Microsoft Planning New MMO and Xbox?

It only seems normal to find Microsoft hiring new game programmers but apparently the intent of it is what makes it really interesting. Thanks to a job listing, speculations are running in the air that Microsoft is set to unveil a new massive multiplayer online game as well as a new successor for the Xbox 360.
“Microsoft Games Studios is looking for experienced game developers to work on next generation Xbox platform titles and Windows games.” Specifically, Microsoft Game Studios is looking for: “an experienced server developer to help develop our server architecture. We are building an extremely high performance system to extend console games to the server in new ways; creating a completely new set of web services to support dynamic programming information of games and scheduling data.” And that’s not all, Microsoft is currently “building a backend capable of hosting a 300,000 player game in real-time with real money on the line (anti-cheating, etc).”
So with that in mind, you have to wonder what is in store for the many followers of the Xbox 360 and of course addicted MMO players. If the rumor and speculations are indeed true, you can bet that everyone will keep an eye out for new developments. Microsoft is no lemon when it comes to new products or services and surely this tidbits are something worth watching out for.

Final Fantasy VII coming to PSP, PS3

A new listing from the ESRB website reveals the arrival of Final Fantasy VII on both the PSP and PS3 systems. The game hit Japanese and Chinese PS3s earlier this year, and those versions were simply the same game we got for the PSOne back in 1997. So in case you’re hoping for a remake, this might not be your day.
No word on when the game will actually be released.

NIER E3 trailer, a Japanese Kratos?
Square-Enix has released a trailer for their new franchise, NIER. The game resembles God of War, but with an obvious J-RPG feel. Not much information is given about the title other than that it is to be released in 2010 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
To be honest, I’d rather have more Final Fantasy 13 coverage than an entirely new project. Let’s hope for more details at E3.
New Mario before end of year, Wii Fit Plus too
According to Nikkei newspaper, a publication in Japan, a new Mario game for the Wii is in the works and will be out before the end of the year. Whether it will be a brand new platformer, a sports title, or a bloody board game is unknown. Hopefully, all will be known once Nintendo holds their press conference at E3.
Some information on Wii Fit Plus was also given, mentioning that it will be an online follow-up of the preceding title. In addition to Internet functionality, more accurate measurement readings will also be included.

New Dead Rising 2 trailer
Capcom has showcased a new trailer for the upcoming survival horror title Dead Rising 2. If you’re preparing for a bunch of new media for the game, don’t expect it at E3 due to the swine flu scare, so you better enjoy the video for what it’s worth.
Dead Rising 2 will be out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC sometime next year.

PSP Go made official, pictures and specs leaked

Seemingly out of no where Sony’s upcoming PSP Go has been leaked prior to its E3 revealing. What you see above is said device and you’ll notice it looks almost exactly how the community thought it would;slide out controls, no UMD, the works.
Anyways, onto the specs courtesy of Engadget:
- 3.8-inch display (resolution is undisclosed)
- 43 percent lighter than the PSP-3000
- 16GB of Flash storage
- Bluetooth built-in; supports handset tethering and BT headsets
- No UMD drive
- Memory Stick Micro slot
- New Gran Turismo, Little Big Planet and new Metal Gear Solid (!) on the way
- Full PlayStation Network support (movie and TV rentals / purchases)
- Integration with PlayStation 3 (works the same as the PSP-3000 does)
- Sony views each of its products as “10-year lifecycle products,” so the PSP “needs to live on.”
That’s all we have for now, expect to see the PSP Go heavily on display during E3 which is right around the corner.
