America’s Army developer shutting down

June 18th, 2009 Posted in Action, Business, FPS, News, Online, PC

America’s Army 3 has just been released, and so far it has been a troubled release, with a lot of users reporting a lot of bugs and issues with the game.

To make matters worse, it looks like the Army-run Emeryville, CA studio that developed the game is shutting down and the staff let go, or rather, discharged. Word is that further development of the game will take place at the Army facility in Redstone Arsenal, AL.

This will inevitably lead to other problems: the current issues with the game. It’s gonna take a lot of time before the new team has been brought up to date with the systems and code base, meaning it will take a lwhile to fix the current bugs.

Geez, are they kidding? How can they leave bugs that freeze the game and make the training hardly worth it if doesn’t update? This kinda of thing should be fixed ASAP. On another note, if you do get into a server to play, damn it’s seriously fun.
