US Air Force orders 2200 PS3s

Yeah, we can imagine the guys at the US Airforce to be huge gamers, but alas, that’s not why their department ordered 2200 PlayStation 3 consoles. Rather than gaming, they’ll be used for their calculative power, as the consoles are cheaper than to buy regular servers.

Back in March of last year, USAF bought 300 PS3 systems for high-def video processing, which brings the total to 2500 systems.
