Ubisoft: 3D gaming is the next “Dolby Stereo”

November 28th, 2009 Posted in Business, Gear, Industry, News, Technology, Video by Mark Briggs

Ubisoft, developers of the upcoming 3D game Avatar, based on the movie of the same name, is saying that 3D is here to stay, where company executive Yannis Mallat said:

“3D is to pictures what Dolby Stereo was to sound. No one wants to go back to mono.”

Both the game and the movie Avatar will be in 3D, however, we’ll have to wait and see if it’s worth all the buzz. The movie opens late December, and the game will be released on Dec 1.
