Take-Two chairman Zelnick doesn’t want annualized GTA

With the game industry growing bigger and bigger comes the increased opportunity for game studios to make money. I mean just look at Activision with Guitar Hero, how many titles are there again?
However, despite these increased opportunities studios like Take-Two aren’t willing to turn a premiere franchise such as Grand Theft Auto into crapware and release a new title every year. In fact, if Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick has any say in it (which he does) that will never happen because he feels “triple-A” games such as Grand Theft Auto require a lot of time to properly develop and deliver to the masses. In fact, he is satisfied with just testing out new formats and platforms such as DLC for GTA 4 and the Nintendo DS and PSP with Chinatown Wars.
What’s next for Take-Two and Grand Theft Auto? Well, let’s hope the company sticks by Zelnick’s words and gives us a quality GTA V regardless of when it comes out.
