EA’s CEO was recently quoted to have said that the Playstation Motion Controller would officially be called the ‘Gem’ which brought about a lot of speculation over whether or not Sony would actually go along with the name.

However, Sony has stepped forward to let us know that Gem was nothing more than an “early code name for the product” and won’t be the actual retail name.

So, we’re back to just using the generic, boring name Playstation Motion Controller.
