Studio Liverpool losing half of their staff?

According to rumors from Develop, Sony’s Studio Liverpool, which was a merger between Psygnosis and Evolution Studios, has laid off half if its staff. When the studios merged, Sony said that during the restructuring, some staff may be laid off due to redundancies. It now appears to be true, however, 50% of the staff is more than was expected. Studio Liverpool is mostly known for marking the Wipeout series.
