BlazBlue: Continuum Shift character revealed

When I first purchased BlazBlue I have to say, I was quite intrigued by its ridiculously fast paced gameplay. However, the fact that it only has 12 characters was quite disappointing. Luckily, Arc System Works has since announced BlazBlue: Continuum Shift which will include, presumably, a new cast of characters for us to mess around with (unless you actually know what you’re doing).
One of those new characters was revealed today thanks to Kotaku, a character called μ-12, pictured above. μ-12 will be voiced by Kanako Kondou, the voice actress behind Noel Vermillion and V-13 from BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger.
Unfortunately there is no North American release date for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift but it will be making its way to Japanese shores for the PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime this summer.
Dead or Alive Paradise coming to NA this Spring

Japanese publisher Tecmo Koei has announced that the lightly dressed ladies of Dead or Alive Paradise for the PSP will be coming to North America this Spring. However, there isn’t much fighting in the game, it’s mostly based on mini games such as Volleyball and a few gambling mini games as well. Yeah, we know; bummer.

BlazBlue hitting PSP in March

Other than Street Fighter IV, BlazBlue is undoubtedly my favorite fighting game. Its fast paced hectic gameplay make for hours of entertainment. However, there is currently no portable offering of the game. Luckily, Arc System Works has just announced that they will be bringing BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Portable to North American shelves this March.
Included in this portable BlazBlue will be an all new game mode called Legion Mode which has been described as a sort of survival mode. In addition to that there is a Shop Mode where you can buy new things with your accumulated points that you get from fighting.
The best part of all is that the same moves featured in the console edition will be ported to the portable edition. Those hours of mastering those crazy combos will not go to waste!

Pre-order Tatsunoko vs Capcom Fight Stick now

All the way back in July, we let you know that a Tatsunoko vs Capcom branded Fight Stick from Mad Catz was on its way at some point in the future. Well, only just know it has been announced tat the Fight Stick is officially for pre-order with a price tag of $79.99.
Compared the Mad Catz’ other Fight Stick offerings, the Tatsunoko vs Capcom’s price tag isn’t so stellar. However with a lower price tag most likely comes lowere quality parts but we won’t talk badly about the controller until we actually get our hands on it.
Of course, since Tatsunoko vs Capcom is only out for the Wii, there will only be a Wii version of the controller released.

Capcom holding Fight Club in Vegas

If you’ve been following Capcom for a while, you may have heard that they previously held an event in New York called the Fight Club. The event pitted competitors against each other in a wide array of games such as Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Super Street Fighter 4.
Why does this matter? Because Capcom will be holding a similar event early next year, but this time in Las Vegas. And considering they streamed said event on UStream

Tekken 6 review
The Tekken series has been in a long battle with Street Fighter and Virtua Fighter for many, many years, each time, each series tried to top the other, and now is no different with Tekken 6. The latest installment in the franchise, this time with a deep roster, new gameplay modes and tweaks, this is certainly the best Tekken game to date. But how does it stack up against the rivals? Read on.
The story of Tekken 6 is slim to non existent to laughable — but that’s expected, it’s not a novel, it’s a fighting game, and the story that’s there basically moves your from fight to fight. Nothing special, and it gets the job done. The single player campaign lets you battle all of the available enemies, which means you’ll be fighting a lot of them — the roster is one of the largest in any Tekken game, with all the classic fighters back, including Lei, Paul, Jin and Kazuya. It also includes characters included in Tekken Dark Resurrection, further increasing the roster to a total of 40. However, not many new members have been introduced, not that it makes any difference, since the roster already feels crowded and it’s gonna take you a long time to identify with all of the characters. Super Street Fighter IV to feature car smashing bonus level

One of the most disappointing things I encountered with Street Fighter IV was the fact that it didn’t feature the beloved car smashing bonus level. Well, with the announcement of Super Street Fighter IV gamers yet again had some car bashing fun to look foward to, if the game was to include it, that is.
Today we have confirmation that the bonus level will infact be included in the new title with the above screen shot showing it off.
Super Street Fighter IV will be out for the Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 23rd, 2010.

Fight Night Round 4 gets new DLC

EA has announced that their boxing simulator Fight Night Round 4 will be getting a new DLC pack this December. The DLC will include two new game modes and three new fighters, which are none other than Sonny Liston, Evander Holyfield, and Bernard Hopkins. Among the new modes is Ring Rivalries, which tries to recreate historic boxing matches. The DLC will retail for 800 MS points, or $10.
Namco announces Tekken 6 success

If you didn’t know, Tekken 6 made its way onto store shelves shelves on October 27th in North America and October 30th in Europe. But already Namco Bandai is announcing that they have shipped 2.5 million copies of the game.
Of course, this doesn’t exactly showcase the game’s success as these numbers focus on units shipped, not units actually sold. We’ll have to wait until the title has been available for at least a week before we see those numbers.
Anyone planning on picking up Tekken 6 if you haven’t done so already?

Super Street Fighter IV’s Seth “even cheaper” than before

We already know that Super Street Fighter IV is on its way but we don’t know much about the game’s story line. Today, Capcom’s Seth Killian sat down with Kotaku to speak about the game’s final boss; Seth.
If you’re played Street Fighter IV on the harder difficulties you’ll know that Seth is no walk in the park, utilizing just about every cheap move in the book. Well, according to Mr. Killian, the Seth in Super Street Fighter IV “will be even cheaper and more irritating”.
Luckily, all of the new characters will be unlocked out of the box so you won’t be fighting Seth over and over again like in the previous title.
Tekken 6 Limited Edition with fightstick up for pre-order

Amazon has recently thrown the the limited edition of Tekken 6, which includes a wireless fight stick and art book, up for pre-order at $149.99 for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. If Amazon isn’t your favorite retailer don’t fret as companies such as GameStop have also put the $149.99 bundle up for pre-order.
Tekken 6 will be the franchise’s first major title for the current generation consoles and includes a rather large roster of characters at 42. As for a release date, well, you’ll be seeing both the standalone Tekken 6 along with the above mentioned bundle hit store shelves for the PS3 and 360 on October 27th, 2009.
Super Street Fighter IV announced

If you thought Capcom was going to be nice and give you downloadable characters for Street Fighter IV, you were wrong. Today, the developer has announced Super Street Fighter IV, a tweaked and improved standalone version of SF4 with 8 additional characters.
Of these characters just 3 have been officially confirmed: T. Hawk, Dee Jay and Juri. Fans of the Street Fighter franchise will recognize T. Hawk and Dee Jay from previous titles while Juri is an all new character.
As for a release date, we’re looking at Spring 2010 for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, with no mention of a PC release date.

Street Fighter IV getting a new character on Sept. 29th?

Capcom has today launched an all new Street Fighter IV teaser website that shows off the fact that they will be introducing a “new warrior” to the game on Tuesday, September 29th at 5PM in Japan.
Of course, as of right now we have nothing more than whats featured on the teaser website which is just a small video including the screenshot shown above. We’re going to assume that this “new warrior” is an all new Street Fighter character to be offered through Xbox Live, the PSN and through Capcom’s official website for the PC.
We’ll keep you posted as more information is made known.

WET review
If you though your game collection was overwhelmed with shooters, in particular, third person shooters, here comes WET, or Wet, as we’ll call it from now on. It’s a third person action game (doh) which brings its own unique style to the genre — picture grind-house horror and bloodshed mixed up with Max Payne-slow-mo kind of action sequences. Then you get Wet. However, as stylish as the game is, there’s isn’t much underneath the surface.
In Wet, you play as Rubi Malone, a dark haired tough chick who’s got an axe to grind with pretty much everyone, and she’s got a series of moves, from kicking and punching, to sliding and, if all fails, you have your good ‘ol guns to save you. The game is non-stop action, the story and dialogue are kept to a minimum, as you’ll be pumping lead into foes pretty much the whole time. More »

Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao review
There has been an onslaught of quasi kung-fu inspired games, mostly making a homage to the genre in form of a spoof, like Rag Doll Kung Fu and the upcoming Plastic Ninjas (to some extent). Invincible Tiger is another one of those games, and accomplishes most of what it sets out to do.
In Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao, you assume the role of a kung-fu fighter who battles his way through a myriad of Ninjas and bosses. The whole game has a great feel of 1970’s Bruce Lee kung-fu movies, complete with funny dialogue that has deliberately been dubbed incorrectly, the punch sounds and, of course, classic 1970s Hong Kong music to accompany everything. While Invincible Tiger is a 2D game, it has great 3D backgrounds which add to the mood and setting of the game, and if you happen to have 3D glasses, it’ll even pop out in full 3D mode. It’s also not strictly a 2D scroll game, as you’ll be limited to one “window” or zone at a time, where you have to clear out all enemies before you’re allowed to move on. This is great for focusing action on one place at a time, however, the action in Invincible Tiger can get quite repetitive, which means you can’t just quickly skip places like in most other 2D games by just “running and jumping” to the end; you actually have to finish everything, meaning lots and lots of button mashing.
