Gears 2 Multiplayer Rundown

June 29th, 2008 by Jeff Baker in Media, Multiplayer, Xbox360

Those anxiously awaiting the release of Gears of War’s sequel are in for a treat as a video highlighting the game’s new multiplayer features has hit the web.

Showcasing things like movable cover, chainsaw duels, new weapons, and all new execution methods, this informative video will be one that any Gearhead won’t want to miss.

Those thinking Gears of War 2 will be burdened with players over utilizing the roll-and-shotgun method of playing will be happy to know that Epic has taken some measures to combat this, as seen in the above video.

Gears of War 2 is currently in development by Epic Games and is slated for a 2008 release on Xbox 360.

Resistance 2 - Teaser Trailer

April 13th, 2008 by Jeff Baker in FPS, Media, News, PlayStation 3

Just yesterday, Gametrailers released the first official teaser-trailer for Resistance 2. Featuring nothing more than a landscape view of a city, presumably the games setting, the games protagonist narrating a few lines, the games official logo, and an announcement that more eye candy is coming on June 13. Not much, but it’s still the first official media we’ve seen from Resistance 2.

View the surprisingly unexciting teaser-trailer below:

Wikipedia offers the following plot synopsis for Resistance 2:

The plot is a continuation of the Resistance: Fall of Man storyline. The game starts with a Black Ops aircraft taking Sgt. Nathan Hale to the base of the Special Projects Research Administration (SPRA) in Iceland. Hale arrives at the base and discovers that there are others like him that are resistant to the Chimera virus who have been collected together from around the world by the SPRA. The result is a task force called ‘The Sentinels’. The base then comes under attack by Chimera forces and ‘The Sentinels’ manage to escape to the United States. Two years after the Chimeran defeat in Great Britain, the Chimera launch a full-scale aerial invasion on both the east and west coasts of the United States.

Mario Kart Wii - Screenshots

April 13th, 2008 by Jeff Baker in Driving, Media, News, Racing, Wii

With Mario Kart Wii soon to be racing onto shelves, we thought some screen shots of the game will prepare you for what is soon to come. You can’t really tell from the screen shots if the Wii Wheel is going to prove to be a realistic controller for Mario Kart or if the hardcores will just go back to using their Wave Birds, but it will definitely give you a nice idea of what is soon to come.

Like [seemingly] always with Wii video game iterations, there isn’t much graphical improvements featured in the game other than updated textures and the like but, the screen shots do remind us that there will be all new tracks, karts, and motocycle…. kart… things.

Gameinfowire has a rather extensive gallery of Mario Kart Wii screen shots, totaling 37 different images, but I have gone through the gallery and picked out 4 [pictured below] that I believe give a good feel for features new to the Mario Kart franchise.
