While those are decent first day sales numbers, in comparison to the DSi — which sold 170,000 units during its first two days when it was released a year ago — it’s not that much. The PSP Go was released on October 1 in North America and Europe, and sales numbers for those territories haven’t been released yet.

Last month we learned that the PSP title SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 would be hitting store shelves on November 24rd. Today, Sony has announced that the game is getting a delay to January 12th, 2010. But what gives?

Producer Mark Rogers says that the delay will give them more time to properly market the game and give it the proper attention it deserves. Then again, they probably just don’t want to release it in the same month as Modern Warfare 2.

The first we heard of a LittleBigPlanet PSP title was all the way back in February when it was announced alongside MotorStorm. At the time it was only said to be hitting store shelves sometime this year.

However, Sony has today announced that the PSP title will be hitting store shelves in North America on November 17th, 2009.

Sony hasn’t said much regarding the contents of the game but they have said that it will feature a massive DLC library, something that made the PS3 LittleBigPlanet title very popular.

It seems that the head honcho of independent game retailer Chips isn’t too confident in the future of the PSP Go in fact, he thinks its going to hit rock bottom faster than Sony expects.

During an interview with GI.biz Don McCabe went on record as saying:

I’m 99.9 percent sure it’s going to fail miserably, in which case it’s going to put back other potential people coming into the digital space

Well, if we’ve learned anything from Sony’s past hardware (PS3) we know that they sometimes have some pretty slow launches. Perhaps the PSP Go will defy the odds and come out on top? Only time will tell.

If you’re scratching your head at this number, Sony breaks it down into several catagories: they will have 225 full downloadable games (PSP Minis, full PSP titles, PSN titles etc.) in addition to 2,300 movies and 13,300 TV episodes.

Sure, the number got a bit of a boost from the TV episodes but it is in fact 16,000 pieces of DLC which is all that matters. Now we’ll just have to see if another actually wants the PSP Go, right?

This means you’ll be able to link up with 2-4 players and progress through the game’s campaign wirelessly.

Considering the community behind the SOCOM franchise this most likely won’t be the last Fireteam Bravo PSP title we’ll be seeing.

One of the biggest gripes gamers usually have against the PSP is its lack of a strong game library. However, if recent reports are to be believed Sony may have a few tricks up their sleeve to remedy that.

One of those tricks is the possibility of free PSP Minis developer kits which would give a much larger group of developers access to the service. News comes to us from a recent interview done with Sony Europe’s Zeno Colaco where he was questioned about the possibility of a free dev kit, to which he responded:

“Further down the line, we may investigate a totally free model or supported model.”

However, Colaco says, having a free dev kit isn’t all peaches:

“There are dangers in having total open access; having six thousand applications where probably only thirty are discovered by the consumer. Some of the developers working on the App Store and PSP Minis tell us that they prefer our approach because they get more visibility.”

Gran Turimso 5 has been in development seemingly forever but that’s to be expected considering the amount of effort Polyphony Digital is putting into it. While we have yet to see a solid release date, one could only expect that the game hit North American shelves sometime after it dropped in Japan.

Thankfully, Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi recently sat down for an interview to speak of the issue where he was quoted to have said, “its release is not too far away – it will be after the PSP GT release – and, most likely, it will be a simultaneous worldwide release.”

Most likely, huh? That doesn’t sound too promising but it can at least be assumed GT5 will be released in Japan and North America very close to one another.
