Nvidia reconsidering GTS 240 re-naming

While ATI went and developed new GPUs, Nvidia has been renaming their line of graphics chips for six months now. Earlier this week, they renamed the 9800 GTX+ to GTS 250, and have been planning on renaming the 9800 GT to GTS 240. However, those plans now seem to be scrapped.
Nvidia originally wanted to “ease confusion” among its products by renaming much of its graphics chips, in reality however, it has only added to the confusion. The 9800 GT, which was supposed to be the GTS 240, has already been renamed once: it was the very successful 8800 GT chip.
Instead, it will still be called the 9800 GT. But in reality it’s the 8800 GT. Confused? So are we.
