Racing games and I generally do not get along. I find them somewhat dull and repetitive, even after the initial adrenaline shock wears off. This left me with something of a quandary as I discovered a racing game that was actually pretty entertaining, and it’s a new one out for the Xbox 360, PS3 and [...]
If you are one of those cheapskates who would not cough up money for buying a Xbox Live Gold subscription, your free Silver account is in luck today, as the beta for Microsoft’s television-inspired online quiz show 1 vs. 100 will be temporary open to you until tomorrow.
Only open to US and Canadian gamers, [...]
Many have feared that Microsoft would increase the price of Windows 7 compared to Vista, but that has turned out to be false, as Windows 7 will actually be cheaper than Vista, which is always a good thing, especially if you’re upgrading from Vista or XP.
If you’re buying a new copy, the price will be:
Windows [...]

Ubisoft’s forums are abuzz with talk about the upcoming Splinter Cell: Conviction. People are discussing features, plotlines, whether they enjoy the idea of a character actually aging as games go by (Sam Fisher is in his fifties in this title), the usual sorts of pre-release forum chatter. Ubisoft has started a thread allowing fans to [...]

For years certain series were only found on certain consoles. These exclusive titles were a big win for whoever had them since many of them were popular enough to sell a new console on the mere promise of a game for it. Unfortunately with the rising costs of development this has become less and less [...]

The ultimate evolution of video games is the sci-fi scheme where there’s no necessary equipment. Whether it’s on a projected holographic interface or via a direct neural shunt into the brain, it’s the ultimate in virtual reality with players only being limited by their imagination. Unfortunately we’re ages away from that sort of immersive experience, [...]

MIcrosoft is gearing up for a big push when they release Project Natal, their own motion-sensing offering. Minor peripherals or controller upgrades aren’t usually big affairs, but this is the Xbox’s foray into a new direction, what many say might be the next evolution of video games. Many alternate control peripherals fail due to inadequate [...]

Microsoft’s “Xbox Live Originals” service allowed gamers who were afflicted with a twinge of nostalgia or an unfortunate low cash flow to download some classic titles like Halo and Fable. It was a good idea, except for the fact that they’re all available for an even lower price online in the original disc format. As [...]

Rumors have been circulating for ages about Microsoft’s plans to create a motion-sensing controller to cash in on the huge casual gaming market. Pictures have occasionally surfaced showing a slim controller similar to the Wiimote, but it may be that these were created by Microsoft to throw people off the trail. It’s true, Microsoft does [...]

Vikings make great characters for video games. Their history is one of huge quantities of fighting and destruction, and I say this being of Danish descent myself. Okay, sure, the Danes didn’t have quite the fighting past of, say, the Norwegians or the Swedes, but we still got our blades wet from time to time. [...]

One of the few benefits about having less time to play video games is that by the time I get around to some of the best titles they’ve dropped in price significantly. Unfortunately one of the only options many times is to pick up a used copy from Gamestop or other reseller, meaning that your [...]

Fighting games seem to be thinning out of late, buried under a slew of first person shooters and sports games, but one particular gem has managed to emerge from the fray to continue a following that goes back decades, back to a simpler time when there were arcades in malls and most people got their [...]

Well, I’ll say one thing for Warriors Orochi, today’s target of choice–it’s not a first person shooter. So I’m prepared to cut this game a great whopping lot of slack. And it’s a good thing, too, because this game is going to NEED a whole lot of slack.

Despite the warm reception of the Windows 7 beta and RC1, there has still been some doubt when the OS would be released. Microsoft has now confirmed via a press release that Windows 7 will be launched this year, in the final quarter, almost certainly meaning that it will be available for this year’s holiday [...]
It looks like Microsoft is again looking to expand this time announcing plans to acquire Vancouver, Canada-based game developer BigPark. Apparently, Microsoft has been working with this developer for some time now getting ready to release an Xbox 360 exclusive.
There is no word on how much the deal will go down for or what game [...]
