Amazon.com has today announced that they will be holding a buy 2 games get 1 free deal through Saturday, October 17th. In such an economy, this is a perfect time for gamers to rejoice and hop on this deal as fast as they can.

Pre-order Modern Warfare 2 at Amazon and get $10 credit
On Tuesday, we got the prices for the Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition and it turns out that we’re not so happy about the impact these special editions are having on our wallets. And who can forget about the Prestige Edition, complete with night vision goggles, which costs $150.
Fortunately, CheapyD from CheapAssGamer brings us some relief with a promotion over at Amazon, offering $10 store credit for reserving any of the versions.
So, if you’re really planning on investing on those goggles, Amazon is probably the best way to get the game. If you’re looking for even more of a bargain, then you’re going to want to combine it with a 50% off trading promotion, along with Amazon Prime.

Amazon.com hold’s father day game sale

It seems that Amazon is following Walmart’s example and holding a sale except this time it’s a bit different, Amazon is discounting games you actually care about.
This is a apparantly a father’s day sale and includes Xbox 360 games and Wii and PS3 accessories. While you won’t be getting these games for $20 a piece they do have Call of Duty 4 for $29.99, CoD: WaW for $41.97 and Halo Wars for $41.99.
While some buyers are sure to purchase one or two of these games for Dad, I think I’ll be picking a couple 2-3 up for myself.

Fallout 3 DLC retail pack revealed

Online retailer Amazon has revealed the retail packaging of the upcoming Fallout 3 DLC pack. The pack will include Operation Anchorage and The Pitt, and will retail for $20 — the same price for the online DLC. Although, you’ll get a physical game box plus a Pip Boy poster as well. The new pack will be released on Amazon on May 26, but will not include the upcoming Broken Steel DLC — which will retail for $10 as well.
Game Trading Site Saves Users $3.7 Million
For years retail chain Gamestop has made a fortune off trade-in games. Now other retailers are beginning to get into the action, but someone eventually decided there must be a better way for gamers to swap an old title for a new one. If you’re lucky enough to have some gaming friends it’s possible to swap titles once you’re finished, but many of us don’t have that option.
In July 2006 a site was launched called Goozex which allowed gamers to send in titles towards ‘purchasing’ other games. It’s set up on a points system based on supply and demand; the more popular your game is the more points you’ll get for it. Users pay $1 per trade and their own shipping costs, but in spite of this Goozex estimates they save their users around $20 per trade, adding up to a total of $3.7 million in savings for their clients since the site’s launch.
The service does actually seem to be offering better values than conventional trade-ins, where games trade-in values quickly decline. Unfortunately none of the GameStop locations I called were able to give me prices over the phone, but Amazon was easier to find. They value Fable II at $16.50, Resident Evil 5 at $19.50 for either console version, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition at $6.50 and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for the Wii at $15. The highest point value on Goozex is 1000, which can essentially be calculated at six cents per point. This means that Fable II and Resident Evil 5 are both valued at $60, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition and MK:A are both valued at $27.
GameStop stocks drop thanks to Amazon’s announcement of trade-ins

It looks like GameStop may have finally met its match in terms of the used videogame market.
After Amazon.com’s recent announcement that they will begin testing a trade-in video game program, GameStop’s stocks dropped a full 13% ending the day $3.54 lower than the previous price.
I don’t know about you guys, but if Amazon offers more money for trade-ins than GameStop does, I have no problem receiving Amazon store credit for it.

Amazon testing games trade-in, too

It looks like everyone wants a peice of the used game market; first Toys ‘R’ Us, now Amazon.com.
Amazon.com has recently launched the page www.amazon.com/tradeingames for, what else, trading in used games.
Amazon’s trade in service, however, doesn’t require you to even go to a store. If you’re games in good condition, just print out a shipping label, slap it on a box, and send it off.
You’re going to get Amazon.com credit for your trade-ins. But who cares? Amazon.com has everything, right?

Rock Band Storage For Sale

Real rock stars have trailers where their instruments are stored and transported between gigs. Unfortunately for those of us whose only venues are our living rooms with audiences consisting solely of friends, family and pets we have to store our instruments somewhere else. While most game controllers are easily stored in a drawer or basket next to a console or game library the Guitar Hero and Rock Band instruments are much bulkier.
Right now Amazon has a sizeable discount on a combination ottoman and storage area. It’s called the AK Rockbox and it can hold two guitars, a drum kit and a microphone, everything you need to virtually tour the world. Interestingly it’s not only designed to store your equipment, it’s also got a built-in mechanism to easily raise and lower the drum kit for access while you play. Right now it’s discounted from its original price of $299.99 to $182.32.

Amazon Moving into Online Distribution
Having started its way with books and then moving on to everything else, online retailer Amazon is looking to expand into digital distribution of PC games. The company has acquired casual game developer and distributor Reflexive Entertainment, which developed the GameCenterSolution program.
"We’ll be able to expand our distribution network to include Amazon’s amazing distribution channel," wrote the company CEO in a blog post. He added that the move will bring a “huge new group of customers into play” and that they are committing to “provide the best distribution platform anywhere.”
PS3 Wireless Keypad Priced, Dated
While Sony may have announced the product, it had not provided neither a release date nor a price point for the wireless keypad for the PS3. Online retailer Amazon comes to the rescue, noting that the keypad will cost $49.99 and will be released on November 30.
The release date marks it on the weekend following Black Friday, the biggest day of the year for retail sales in the US.
