Have you played and Guilty Gear or BlazBlue games? If so, you’ll undoubetly know that Arc System Works is the mastermind studio behind these popular franchises. And, while their latest title BlazBlue has spanned the likes of the PS3 and Xbox 360, the Wii has effectively been left in the dust.

Well, luckily, the studio has come forth to announce that they will be release a Wii title after all. However, it’ll be quite different from their other console offerings. In fact, this will be a bass fishing game. Yup, you read that right, a bass fishing game.

God knows why they wouldn’t just attempt a Wii port of BlazBlue but there must be a fishing gamer demographic for them to do something seemingly so ridiculous.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift character revealed

When I first purchased BlazBlue I have to say, I was quite intrigued by its ridiculously fast paced gameplay. However, the fact that it only has 12 characters was quite disappointing. Luckily, Arc System Works has since announced BlazBlue: Continuum Shift which will include, presumably, a new cast of characters for us to mess around with (unless you actually know what you’re doing).

One of those new characters was revealed today thanks to Kotaku, a character called μ-12, pictured above. μ-12 will be voiced by Kanako Kondou, the voice actress behind Noel Vermillion and V-13 from BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger.

Unfortunately there is no North American release date for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift but it will be making its way to Japanese shores for the PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime this summer.

BlazBlue hitting PSP in March

Other than Street Fighter IV, BlazBlue is undoubtedly my favorite fighting game. Its fast paced hectic gameplay make for hours of entertainment. However, there is currently no portable offering of the game. Luckily, Arc System Works has just announced that they will be bringing BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Portable to North American shelves this March.

Included in this portable BlazBlue will be an all new game mode called Legion Mode which has been described as a sort of survival mode. In addition to that there is a Shop Mode where you can buy new things with your accumulated points that you get from fighting.

The best part of all is that the same moves featured in the console edition will be ported to the portable edition. Those hours of mastering those crazy combos will not go to waste!
