Guitar Hero 5 to come bundled with new guitar contoller

July 14th, 2009 1 Comment   Posted in Hardware, Music, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360

You didn’t think Activision would let Guitar Hero 5 hit the market without including a new guitar controller, did you? Good because what you see above is just that, the Guitar Hero 5 bundle you’ll see hit store shelves on September 1st.

Other than the red  , this controller reportedly uses an updated touch pad that will use digital input as opposed to analog found on the previous gen controllers.

There’s no word if this guitar will be made available as a stand alone product or exclusive to the Guitar Hero 5 bundles. Either or, do we really need another guitar controller? I mean, was there anything wrong with the other 50 on the market?

Killzone 2/MGS4 80GB PS3 bundle available now

July 7th, 2009 2 Comments   Posted in FPS, Hardware, PlayStation 3

Just as rumors had suggested, Best Buy has begun offering an 80GB Playstation 3 bundle that will include both Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4.

Priced at $399.99, just as I said yesterday, this bundle will be very enticing for want-to-be PS3 owners waiting for Sony to lower the price. But wait, what if Sony does lower the price? Or what if they release the PS3 slim?

You can check out the bundle over at Best Buy, here.

PS3 Killzone 2/MGS4 80GB bundle coming to Best Buy?

If the above pictures are anything to go by, Best Buy is gearing up to launch a 80GB PS3 bundle that will include both Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4.

According to Joystiq, Best Buy employees have confirmed the bundle to be real and that it will feature a $399 price point just like the normal 80GB system. This is quite the enticing deal to those who have yet to purchase a PS3 and are looking to.

Perhaps Sony is looking to push more PS3s out the door to make way for a cheaper model. Or perhaps, the PS3 slim?

GameStop lists new Wii bundles

July 3rd, 2009 2 Comments   Posted in Hardware, News, Wii

It looks like GameStop is taking an alternative approach to the slowly falling Wii sales. How, you ask? Well, by bundling the console with pirate tattoos, rubber duckies and water guns, of course.

No seriously though, GameStop has listed 3 new Wii bundles; the Take a Bath with a Buddy Bundle, the Pirate Tattoo Bundle and the Summer Fun bundle.

Will you actually get these items, or is this just a joke? I think GameStop is actually serious about this, they are really bundling these completely unrelated items with a Wii.

DJ Hero bundle dated and priced thanks to Amazon, Gamestop?

Now, this isn’t an official announcement from Activison but if the recent product listings are to be believed from both Amazon and GameStop then we may have a hint on when DJ Hero will be released and at what price point.

Both websites have DJ Hero (bundled with the turn-table controller) slated for an October 27th release date at $119.99 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. The difference between the two however is that while GameStop has the PS2 version of DJ Hero priced at $119.99 the Amazon listing has it at $99.

Who is to be believed? Well, if all of this is true then Amazon’s listing makes sense considering the PS2 is a last generation console. Then again, there is no telling if any of this is true until Activision comes forward and makes an announcement of their own regarding DJ Hero’s release date and price.

Nintendo to offer Professor Layton DS Lite bundle in UK

June 16th, 2009 No Comments   Posted in Nintendo, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi

Yes you read that right, despite the DSi’s availability Nintendo has announced that they will be offering a Professor Layton DS Lite bundle in the UK on June 19th.

The bundle will include a black Nintendo DS Lite along with a copy of Professor Layton and the Curious Village. There is really no telling why Nintendo decided to throw a DS Lite into this bundle instead of the newer DSi but who cares, at least the box looks cool.

On a different note, Nintendo is gearing up to drop this game’s sequel, Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box sometime this September.

Gamestop prices Rock Band, Guitar Hero ridiculously low

Now before you continuing reading, if you are actually planning on purchasing Rock Band or Guitar Hero head here because they are selling out fast.

Anyways, Gamestop has recently announced a Music Blowout sale which will slash prices across the board on everything from Guitar Hero: Aerosmith to Rock Band 2. Unfortunately, as I stated above, the bundles are selling out extremely quick but you can still pick up, for instance, Guitar Hero: World Tour bundled with a guitar controller for just $49.99, a huge savings from the original $99.99.

There’s no official word as to why Gamestop is doing this but a hunch says it’s in anticipation of games like The Beatles: Rock Band and Guitar Hero 5.

Red Steel 2 To Be Bundled With Wii Motion Plus

June 2nd, 2009 1 Comment   Posted in Action, Adventure, E3, News, Nintendo, Wii

Red Steel was one of the earliest hardcore games for the Wii and though it emphasized the sword-fighting that part of the gameplay was disappointing due to its gesture-based controls while the gun controls were much more realistic. With the sequel the developers are hoping to deliver on the original promise by utilizing Wii MotionPlus controls.

It’s been demoed at E3 and sounds like it’s a far superior version to the original, with creative director Jason Vandenberge squaring off against a hammer-wielding opponent. Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will be bundled with the controller peripheral since it’s now mandatory for the game. Chance are many will already have the Wii MotionPlus before then since it’ll be bundled along with several sports games and

Guitar Hero: On Tour bundle for under $15

I mean common, it’s less than $15, what do you have to lose? You better act fast though as at the time this article was wrote there are only 31 hours of this deal remaining.

GTA IV Xbox 360 Anniversary Bundle

April 29th, 2009 1 Comment   Posted in Console, DLC, Microsoft, Xbox 360

Believe it or not, Grand Theft Auto IV was released exactly 1 year ago today. You know what that means, right? An Xbox 360 bundle, duh!

Word has recently gotten out that Microsoft is prepping to launch the above pictured Xbox 360 bundle to coincide with GTA IV’s 1 year anniversary.

According to Kotaku, the bundle will feature an Xbox 360 Elite, along with GTA IV, and 2 limited edition stickers; one featuring the game’s logo and one featuring the Liberty City Swingers logo. Unfortunately Microsoft left out the first DLC episode, The Lost & Damned, bummer.

No release date or pricing has been announced but we’ll keep you posted.

Green DS Lite on the way

April 24th, 2009 1 Comment   Posted in Hardware, Nintendo, Nintendo DS, Portable

It was recently made known that Nintendo is prepping to release a greenreen Nintendo DS Lite bundle to conincide with the May 3rd launch of Personal Trainer: Cooking.

The bundle will include, obviously, the DS lite and Personal Trainer: Cooking but Nintendo is also throwing in a fashionable case that matches the DS.

I just wonder why Nintendo wouldn’t bundle this with a DSi, or are they going to have both the DS lite and DSi on the market at the same time?

Wii MotionPlus Debuting With EA Games

April 21st, 2009 1 Comment   Posted in Business, Casual, Console, News, Nintendo, Sports, Wii

It seems like just the other day I was scratching my head in confusion with the announcement that the Wii MotionPlus would be released a full month ahead of Wii Sports Resort, one of the only titles I’d heard of so far that was boasting MotionPlus support. Letting an exciting peripheral sit on the shelves with nothing to play it with seemed like a ridiculously bad decision.

Now it makes sense however as EA must have cut an amazing deal with Nintendo for instead of putting forth a first-party option on the market with the initial launch of the Wii MotionPlus, they’re going to let EA bundle some games along with the peripheral. If you were looking for this announcement to take you in a new and exciting direction you’re not going to be too happy. There are two different bundles being planned, one for North America and one for Europe. Once again the USA’s love of video games is shooting us in the foot as the North American bundle only comes with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 while the European bundle also includes Grand Slam Tennis. The bundles will only be available for a limited time but the games will be available on their own afterwards as well as three others games EA is working on for the Wii MotionPlus.

Ace Attorney DSi bundle coming to Japan

April 4th, 2009 1 Comment   Posted in Nintendo DSi, Simulation

The Nintendo DSi has only been out since November in Japan, but a software-themed bundle is already on the way. Capcom will be releasing an Ace Attorney Premium Edition themed DSi, bundled with a copy of Gyakuten Kenji. It retails for ¥23,940, which is roughly $240USD.

The lawyer-themed bundle will go on sale May 28th, but don’t expect an international release any time soon, so an import would be your best option. Hit the jump for a picture of the system itself.
