E3 ‘09: All Points Bulletin character customization

Here’s something we let slip by from E3, All Points Bulletin’s character creation tool which is showcased extensively in the above video.

Realtime Worlds really did a great job of giving players the ability to tweak and perfect their character any way they want. They also briefly showcased the ability to customize cars from their paintjob all the way to whats on the license plate.

If Realtime Worlds delivers with All Points Bulletin we may be looking at a hugely popular genre of MMOs. Unfortunately at this point all we have for a release date is Q1 2010, bummer.

Sony’s Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has been updated to include three new cars from the ongoing Paris Motor Show as well as a number of tweaks that essentially update the game’s core.

The new cars are Ferrari California, the “GT by Citroen” concept, and the Lotus Evora. The gameplay tweaks include changes to the penalty system, difficulty changes and winnings in Race events; it also improves responsiveness for wireless controllers, among other things.

All this comes at a price, though, as “rankings, arcade time trial times, drift trial records, as well as vehicle-specific quick tune settings and custom key layouts” will all be reset when the update is applied. It is also added that replay data from before the second update will be made unviewable.
