The good news is you’re going to be saving close to $100 when you pick up Modern Warfare 2 this November. The bad news? Well, you’re going to be saving that money because Activision has announced that there will be no PC version of the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition, hell, there won’t even be a Hardened Edition.

So yes, you’re going to be stuck just playing the game rather than galavanting around in night vision goggles, bummer.

This collector’s edition will include the carrying case, pictured above, the turn table controller, a stand for said turn table and 2 CDs worth of Jay-Z/Eminem music.

The press release didn’t give an exact price but EBGames currently has it listed at $199.99. Any buyers?

Priced at $100, a $40 premium over most other collector’s editions, the package will come with the game bundled with a 14″ Batarang (with stand) that matches the in-game design; a full, embossed leather dust jacketed Arkham doctor’s journal; 2 sleeve Digipak containing the game disc and a behind-the-scenes DVD; and a code for the exclusive downloadable challenge map “Crime Alley”. Oh, and a full-color manual.

As a silver lining of sorts, the regular PC version of the game will cost $49.99, $10 cheaper than the console versions.

Capcom has spilled the beans on information regarding the Resident Evil 5: Collector’s Edition. The package will come with a Tricell Messenger Bag, a Chris Redfield Figurine, a BSAA Patch, a Kijuju pendant, a Steel Book (including the game and a bonus disc), and, of course, a manual.

The bonus disc will feature a “Making of Resident Evil 5″ video, a digital art gallery, and a trailer for Resident Evil Degeneration.

The collector’s edition will retail for $89.99 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in March.

What’s inside the package you ask? Well there are plenty of things! You will get your own Vault Boy collectors item direct from Vault-Tec, “The Art of Fallout 3″ hardcover book, a special “The Making of Fallout 3″ DVD, the fully customized metal Vault-Tec lunch box and the game itself. Peter Molynuex has an odd habit of over-promising features and technical accomplishments that one of his games, specifically on of his Fable games, will have. No matter how hard they try, the games seem to always launch without some sort of feature that they might have shown off or spoken about. That is why I find it endlessly ironic that Lionhead has announced that the Fable 2 Collector’s Edition will ship with less content than originally planned.

“The premium box, five printed fate cards, and Hobbe figure will not be available as part of the Limited Collector’s Edition. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

The price, however, has also been reduced. Whereas the original Collector’s Edition of Fable 2 was $79.99, the new bundle will be priced at $69.99, merely $10 more than the price of the standard copy of Fable 2. For that price, buyers will get a bonus DVD with new ‘Making-of’ Feature, bonus in-game content (which will be obtained online via Xbox Live), The Hall of the Dead’ Dungeon(which I believe is a map), The Wreckager Legendary Cutlass Weapon, Spartan armor and energy sword. Once you are done enjoying that, you might also want to check out the actual game, which is also included in the Collector’s Edition. Lionhead will also release the canceled “fate cards” as a PDF.
