Ric Flair Joins Red Alert 3 Cast

If you thought Red Alert 3 wasn’t campy enough… think again! EA has announced more of the live-action cast for the upcoming expansion pack – returning cast Gemma Atkinson and Ivana Milicevic are joined by newcomers wrestler Ric Flair, Jamie Chung, Malcolm McDowell, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe and Holly Valance.

Here’s what Ric Flair had to say: “When I found out that EA wanted me to be part of Command & Conquer, all I could say was ‘Woooooooooooo!’”

The stand-alone “Uprising” expansion will offer four mini-campaigns and add a new Commander’s Challenge mode. It is due out this March.

PS3 C&C 3 Ain’t Dead Yet

Fans of the popular Command and Conquer series will be happy to hear that EA is looking hopeful in their upcoming release of the PS3 version of Command and Conquer 3.

Announcing that they are “looking to do some really cool things” with the game, taking advantage of the fact that Blu-ray can hold so much more than a DVD, which clearly means tons of console specific content.

Of course, there is no set release date for the game but at least we know the PS3 will actually be getting it, right?

Red Alert 3 DRM "Lenient"

EA and other publishers have been lambasted for including “draconian” DRM in their games. However, the company seems to have learned from its mistakes, as Chris Corry, producer of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, revealed that the copy protection in the game will be “more lenient” than other titles.

“In the case of Red Alert 3 (and all PC titles coming out of EA), we will use SecuROM,” said Corry, referring to a brand of DRM technology used in previous EA LA projects. He notes that the game disc will not be required to launch the game; up to five installations will be allowed after which users will have to contact EA customer service.

He also took some time to offer his opinion on the DRM issue.

“I think it would be a shame if people decided to not play a great game simply because it came with DRM, but I understand that this is a very personal decision for many of you and I respect that,” adding, “I’m a lot less respectful of those people who take the position that they will illegally download a game simply because it has DRM.”

Red Alert 3 is set for release on PC and Xbox 360 next month.
