The above video has recently hit the internet showcasing new vehicles to be included in Burnout Paradise’s Cops and Robbers DLC pack.

The Criterion dev does a good job giving you a full break of all 15 cop cars to be included in the pack. Just imagine seeing a pickup truck cop car in real life.

Unfortunately, there’s still no word on when the Cops and Robbers pack will be made available for download, we’ll keep you posted.

The guys over at Criterion Games sure are serious about Burnout Paradise, releasing a teaser trailer for yet another DLC pack slated for release.

This one’s called Cops and Robbers and, after viewing the trailer, one is led to believe that it will add a bunch of different patrol cars for players to use and outrun in a game mode similar to ones featured in previous Burnout games.

Other than the above teaser, there isn’t much information regarding the Cops and Robbers DLC pack, not even a release date or price range.

Wow Criterion is really on a roll with these Burnout Paradise DLC packs. First the Legendary Cars pack, then the Toy Cars pack, now the Boost Specials Collection pack.

Featured in the Boost Specials Collection pack are two cars; the Hawker Mech and Carson Extreme Hotrod.

Priced at 400 Microsoft Points, or 5 bucks, for both cars or 240 Microsoft Points ($3) seperately, the Boost Specials Collection will be available this Thursday on both the PSN and Xbox Live Marketplace.

Criterion Games’ Island Pete has recently announced via his Twitter that the Legendary Cars and Toy Cars DLC packs will finally be hitting the PC thanks to Steam’s digital distribution service.

Having already been released for the console versions of the game, PC owners have been pretty much left in the dark until now.

While there is no official release date for the DLC on the PC, it’s at least good to know that it’s coming.

Criterion Games has already released the ‘Legendary Cars’ pack for Burnout Paradise and now they are moving onto the ‘Toy Cars’ pack.

Apparently the pack was released by accident some time ago but it’s now getting an official release date of this Thursday.

Theres no word on pricing but when it was accidentally released via the Xbox Live Marketplace, the pack stood at 1,000 Microsoft points.

Thank Joystiq for this one: they noticed a new trailer for the forthcoming PC release of Burnout Paradise that reveals that the open-world racer will eventually gain a cop pursuit mode as downloadable content.

The trailer shows in-game footage of a cop car, as well as an in-game listing for a downloadable add-on pack that is signified by a police badge. Past entries in the series have had pursuit modes where players took control of a police vehicle and apprehend speeding suspects before reaching the race’s end.

Since its release, Burnout Paradise has received quite a bit of downloadable content that introduces new vehicles, among other things. It is not known if this add-on will be premium or not.

Now a PC exclusive, the new edition of the game features all downloadable content released so far on the PS3 and Xbox 360 so far and even more content. It can be noted that console versions of the game will get the Party mode as premium DLC, though Europe will get the Ultimate Box on all three systems.

The Party mode is an offline multiplayer mode where up to eight players can compete in challenges, one at a time, by passing the controller.

Along with the Party mode, the PC version also supports higher resolution graphics, more graphical pizazz and multiple monitors.

Some of the new cars include the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard and KITT from Knight Rider, along with the previously announced DeLorean from Back to the Future.

The pack is slated to go online some time after the Party pack next month.

“We want all our PC players to be sure it runs perfectly on their system, before they commit to buying it,” writes the developer on its site. “But there’s a lot of game to show you.”

“So rather than restricting what you can do, we’re letting you play through the start of the full game for a limited period…You can go anywhere in Paradise City and check out everything on offer,” the post continues, additionally noting that all in-game events will be available.

No restrictions were specified, but it will undoubtedly offer a glimpse to hopeful buyers of the game. It will be available via Criterions and EAs website come February 2009, as well as through millions of disks.

Ending the onslaught of free downloadable content for Burnout Paradise, developer Criterion has unveiled Big Surf Island for the game, a new downloadable area.

Writing on its website, Criterion explained that they “never expected to create anything this ambitious for the island, but as it progressed we got more and more excited about what it could become.”

The island is apparently the “culmination of everything” they learned from creating the main game, noting that they want to bring “you a truly spectacular new experience.”

Other than the area itself, the download will add a new Dust Storm vehicle, a buggy.

The DLC will let players choose from two motorcycles featuring male or female characters and start a whole new progression to earn the Bike License; thirty-eight new race events; in-game 24 hour day/night cycle; dynamic weather and 70 more Freeburn challenges.

The studio hopes to add more content and updates to the crash-happy game in the future. A PC version is also in the works for release later in the year.

The site also reports that the game will include the camera functionality of the console versions, allowing you to take pictures with any USB webcam and use it for the in-game license and online takedowns. There is also word that the single-player progression may be changed slightly, though no details were given.

The game will be the first to make the leap as a downloadable game following a traditional retail release. Burnout Paradise has seen much support from the developer in the form of several content updates throughout the year, which saw the inclusion of new online game modes and introduced motorcycles to the game.

A PC version of the game is currently in development.
