When Blue Dragon first made its way onto the Xbox 360 it was met with generally good reception but hand held consoles in the States have yet to get the same love. According to Joystiq, this game will be set 2 years after the Xbox 360 game and feature similar game play.

According to a Japanese press release translated by Adriasang, Namco Bandai is staging a buyout of D3 Publisher. The Soul Calibur publisher has already secured 70% of D3’s shares and hopes to acquire the remaining 30% for full control of the company.

D3 Publisher is best known for publishing various Naruto and Ben 10 titles, as well as Dark Sector and Puzzle Quest.

Namco hopes that the acquisition will help both companies out, complementing each other. It will also cooperate in their overseas expansion efforts, as well as maximize D3 content’s reach through Namco’s toy, amusement and video divisions.

In another piece of offbeat news, D3Publisher has announced that bikini-clad heroine Onechanbara will make it to North America in Bikini Samurai Squad on Xbox 360. The publisher initially announced the Wii version for the region.

The game has lead Saki and her schoolgirl sister Saki battling legions of the undead in both single and multiplayer modes. It also includes a dress-up mode, allowing players to “maximize and personalize the Onechanbara experience.”

No release date was announced for either versions, but the Wii edition is slated for release sometime next year. The company has disclosed that they are working with Tamsoft, the developer, to add new content not found in the Japanese version.
