Meet the villains in Batman: Arkham Asylum
What would a comic book hero be without a villain? Well, certainly not a hero. The wide range of villains featured in the upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum certainly doesn’t disappoint, leaving players for a number of bosses to look forward to fighting. The villains featured include The Joker, Poison Ivy, Bane, and many other less known characters.
Arkham Asylum will be out on shelves August 25th in North America and three days later for Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Eidos has released another super villain trailer for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum game. This time, it’s Poison Ivy’s turn to showcase her “uncanny ability to control plants.” Everytime I see one of these trailers for the game, I am reminded how powerful the Unreal Engine 3 can be.
Batman: Arkham Asylum will be hitting stores by the end of the Summer for the PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 consoles.

Warner Bros. Interactive has released a new Batman: Arkham Asylum video showcasing “The Man who Broke the Bat”, better known simply as Bane. The trailer demonstrates what the character will look like in the game.

Glu Launches Watchmen: The Mobile Game

So you want to be a hero? Well if you are among the millions of fans awaiting the release of the popular movie taken from DC comics’ “Watchmen”, you can thank Glu Mobile Inc. for letting you have a feel of the game before the film hits the big screens.
Glu Mobile Inc. today announced the worldwide launch of Watchmen: The Mobile Game, the fifth title Glu has developed and published through its license agreement with Warner Bros. Digital Distribution on behalf of DC Comics. Watchmen: The Mobile Game is an intense action game where players fight crime through the streets of NYC and the jungles of Vietnam as the masked vigilantes Nite Owl and The Comedian. The game is based on the upcoming movie Watchmen, from Warner Bros.
Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with Legendary Pictures, opening nationwide on March 6, 2009.
Features include:
- Beat ‘Em Up Action – Play as the stealthy Nite Owl and brawling anti-hero, The Comedian, each with a unique repertoire of attacks, weapons and special moves.

DC MMO Dropping in Early 2010
It wasn’t confirmed until now, but you can mark your calendar now: DC Universe Online, the upcoming MMO based on the DC Comics franchise, won’t hit retail until sometime around early 2010, according to the game’s lead writer.
Speaking with MTV, comics writer Geoff Johns commented on the game’s release date: “It launches I think in early 2010, it could be late 2009.”
Johns’ resume includes work on various high-profile titles including Justice Society of America, Green Lantern and Flash. He has scripted the overall story and universe of the upcoming title. He notes that players will get to delve deep into DC archives.
