Spore: Galactic Adventures details emerge

Remember Spore? The game that everyone thought was going to change the way we looked at the gaming industry in general? Yeah, well EA has finally taken the time to reveal some details regarding the game’s Galactic Adventures expansion that was first announced back in January.
In Galactic Adventure players will take the rank of Space Captain as they adventure the galaxy (ironic huh?) unlocking and collecting 30 new “game-changing items and accessories”.
And what’s a game without some sort of achievements, right? Players will be given a Creature Card, that showcases their ranking and accomplishments.
Yep, that’s all we have to go by for now, no release date or pricing.

LEGO Rock Band details emerge; destory giant robots with “killer riffs”

When we first learned about LEGO Rock Band’s existence earlier this month I’m sure the majority of you rolled your eyes at the announcement. Well guess what, you get to roll your eyes again!
Microsoft has recently listed the game giving us a whole slew of details. Other than being able to customize everything from your band and manager to a LEGO themed “rock den”, you’ll be able to “play killer riffs to destroy a giant robot, summon a storm, and demolish a skyscraper using the power of rock!”. WOOT!
Honestly though, it’s obvious that this game is being marketed towards kids considering the LEGO theme and addition of an easier difficulty setting (as if easy wasn’t easy enough?) for “budding musicians.
LEGO Rock Band is currently in development over at TT FUsion and will be released for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and Nintendo DS later this year.
Sony releases PSP 5.5 firmware details

Sony has recently released, via their official blog, details regarding the upcoming 5.5 firmware update for the PSP.
First up is the Information Board, borrowed from the PS3, which will display a news ticker featuring things like Playstation Store updates and other things Sony.
Below are the rest of the details, don’t get too excited:
Memory Stick improvements – You’ll be able to create and access sub-folders on your Memory Stick PRO Duo for music, videos and photos. Separately, the available space required to download a file from PlayStation Store to your Memory Stick has been reduced significantly.
Internet search for games directly from the XMB – You’ll be able to easily search the Internet for information about your PSP games. Select the icon for the game, hit the Triangle button, and then select [Internet Search] from the options menu to get search results based on the game title. This feature was added to PS3 with the recent 2.70 update.
Trend Micro trial – PSP’s Internet browser is a great tool for checking out your favorite Web sites on the go, and we’re teaming up with the Internet security experts at Trend Micro to make the Web browsing experience safer and more secure. With the 5.50 update, you’ll have the option to access a free trial of two Trend Micro services:
Trend Micro Web Security uses Web reputation technology to block PSP owners from accidentally visiting a Web site that may contain malicious content designed to steal personal information and confidential data.
Trend Micro Kids’ Safety uses URL filtering technology to prevent children from accessing Web sites that feature inappropriate content.
