Sony has recently sent a memo to IGN that has effecitvely let the entire internet know that come October 1st the Playstation Store will have 16,000 peices of DLC for use with the brand new PSP Go.

If you’re scratching your head at this number, Sony breaks it down into several catagories: they will have 225 full downloadable games (PSP Minis, full PSP titles, PSN titles etc.) in addition to 2,300 movies and 13,300 TV episodes.

Sure, the number got a bit of a boost from the TV episodes but it is in fact 16,000 pieces of DLC which is all that matters. Now we’ll just have to see if another actually wants the PSP Go, right?

Ashley Cheng, a producer at Bethesda Game Studios, brings bad news to Fallout 3 fans today. It turns out that the highly-anticipated Fallout 3 DLC will be seeing a delay. Cheng states that Bethesda is aiming for a late September release. The producer also released a brief look at the upcoming DLC packages:

Operation: Anchorage – Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders.

The Pitt – Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh and choose sides in the battle between the slaves and the slavers.

Broken Steel (pictured below) – Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest and raises the game’s level cap to 30.

Point Lookout – Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content.

Mothership Zeta – The aliens have returned, and they’re pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you’re tough enough to survive.

Cheng also gave word that the first DLC to be released will be Broken Steel, followed by Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt (probably at the same time).

A comment posted by a fan asking about the Game of the Year Edition was replied to by Cheng, saying “We’ll have more on the Game of the Year version later. Stay tuned.” So, maybe you’ll want to hold out on all the DLC until the GOTY edition comes out, which usually includes all DLC on the disc.

Well, if recent reports are true, Sony is going to make it a lot easier for said gamers to keep on the ball.

Trailers also feature these helpful little reminders at the end and apparently in a trailer for Bioware’s upcoming Dragon Age: Origins two of the logos featured were somewhat unusual for a game: Twitter and Facebook.

It seems that as with Spore the overall aim is to blur the line between single player and multiplayer. With Spore you created creatures who existed in a universe populated by the creations of others. The developers are looking for some method of connecting the community of Dragon Age players through a ‘network of manually and automatically shared content’.

Some of that will be more passive, similar to the stat-tracking features of games like Halo 3 where you can nip over to Bungie’s and check out lifetime game stats for yourself and others. Given that they’ll be including a suite of content creation tools though there could be some other aspects to it. In-game merchants selling weapons and armor others have created is a possibility, as well as other people’s characters being used for NPCs or hirelings.

Sure, they’ve got a lot of reviewers bored to tears by the repetitive gameplay and storylines, but the cult following of the series is quite happy with how things go every time. They’re certainly smart about how they sell it as well, with my brand spanking new copy of Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, purchased on the release date only setting be back a mere $40.

One of the perks of the title is the custom character mode where you can assemble your own legendary warrior(s) for use in the game. You start off with a handful of outfits and though you unlock more as you play, the variety is not as wide as one would hope, but they’re going to remedy this soon via DLC. I definitely feel appreciated as a fan because all the DLC for the game is completely free of charge. They’re also adding in a pack of new background music for those who are a fan of their odd composite of traditional asian music and rock.

Though it might not have gotten the acclaim of most other titles in the series, Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe performed well enough to warrant some DLC of its own.

Unfortunately this won’t ever see the light of day due to the financial stumblings of Midway and their buy-out by Warner Bros. Ed Boon posted a render for sorceror Quan Chi onto his personal twitter account with the commentary “Excited about MK9 and WB, but wish we could have released DLC for MKvsDC”. Due to the abbreviated nature of twitter there aren’t any more details but with a huge roster of Mortal Kombat characters who hadn’t made the cut we’d probably have seen a fair number of fan favorites added to the list.

To continue that success Capcom has announced that they will begin offereing DLC packs every Friday for the next couple of months.

The first free DLC pack entitled Triumvirate of Sands reportedly adds a new mission to the game with three all new monsters, Tigrex, Daimyo Hermitaur and Plesioth.

To snag Triumvirate of Sands just head to the Downloads screen in-game. I wonder, will this game have me dusting off my PSP? Perhaps.

First off I’d like to apologize for the incredibly dramatic nature of my posting yesterday regarding the upcoming Lionhead announcement. It seems that I was affected by ‘Molyneuxitis’, classified by medical professionals as the ‘pathological hyping of everything’. The announcement isn’t Fable III, a new expansion pack or a spin-off game, but simply a release date for the “See The Future” content pack.

The new DLC pack will be available May 12th for a mere 560 MS points. Once again there will be a free downloadable item that’ll allow those who don’t want the content pack to play online with friends. It’ll be studded with a few pieces of the content however, including jester make-up, a back flip trick for your dog, a soldier helmet and a few other sundries.

There will be even more content in the pack of course, including new quests, a coliseum where players who’ve already conquered the Crucible can test their skills against new challenges (well, as challenging as Fable II ever is) and win new prizes. More legendary weapons are promised, along with a ‘trip down memory lane to the original Fable‘, so it seems you’ll be seeing the past as well as the future. No, there’s no Delorean, but players will be able to customize their dog a little more. If you’re not terribly happy with the shaggy mutt’s overall appearance you can turn him into a bloodhound, husky or dalmatian.
