EA Opens Doors for Ultima Online: Stygian Beta Testers

Last April, EA announced the launch for Ultima Online: Stygian, an expansion pack for the famed Ultima Online series. Today, EA has announced that it is opening its doors to beta testing. Beta testers for Stygian Abyss, the upcoming expansion to one of the longest-running MMORPGs in history, will have the chance to experience the playable Gargoyle race before anyone else.

The closed beta, set to begin later this month, has a limited number of available spots for eligible applicants. Closed beta testers must be current Ultima Online subscribers and will be selected based on computer system specs, previous testing experience, community involvement and other criteria.

Guild Wars Hits 6 Million Units Sold

Guild Wars is an online game that has been around for some years now. Something that has gotten the whole world addicted to it, NCsoft reports that Guild Wars has exceeded six million units sold. Guild Wars is the award-winning and genre-defining series that is one of the most popular and successful online role-playing games in the industry.

Guild Wars is one of the most successful PC gaming franchises of all time. Since its release in 2005, it has received numerous awards for its innovative design, world-class art direction and robust content streaming engine. ArenaNet continues to support the game’s thriving community with regular in-game events, updates, and community activities.

The Guild Wars universe contains three campaigns and an expansion pack: Guild Wars, Guild Wars Factions, Guild Wars Nightfall, and Guild Wars: Eye of the North. Last fall, NCsoft released Guild Wars Trilogy that combines all three campaigns with additional bonus items.

Fallout 3 ‘Broken Steel’ DLC dated

While originally slated for an April release, Bethesda has recently announced that the Broken Steel DLC pack for Fallout 3 will hit Xbox Live on May 5th for 800 Microsoft Points.

Broken Steel will add a whole slew of new content as well as raising the level cap to 30. The whole plot of the pack is based around the Brotherhood of Steel and their ongoing efforts to eliminate the Enclave forces. And, to go along with the updated plot line, there will be an all new ending for players to experience.

So remember everyone, May 5th Broken Steel for Fallout 3.

Sims 2 Apartment Life Soundtrack Announced

66 EA today announced the soundtrack to The Sims 2 Apartment Life expansion pack. It includes music from groups such as Good Charlotte and newcomer Katy Perry to “add flavor to the adventure, fun and drama of close quarters of apartment living.” Other artists include Vanilla Sky, Ranetki Girls, Lola, Chromeo, Junkie XL and more.

The expansion itself is slated for launch on August 26 in North America and August 22 in Europe and Asian. Hit the jump for the full soundtrack listing.
