FileFront online again
A few weeks ago, we reported that FileFront was shutting its doors in this tough economic climate. Thankfully though, last minute negotiations made sure that FileFront actually stayed online.
The original founders of the site were able to buy it back from Ziff Davis, the struggling media house. While this announcement was made on April 1st, leading many to believe it was a hoax, the founders of FileFront reassured everyone that the news was in fact real. Perhaps they should have waited for April 2nd to make the announcement.

FileFront shutting down
Ziff Davis has announced that FileFront, the popular download service that has been online since 1999, will be shutting down its operations “indefinitely” on March 30. FileFront has long been one of the most popular download sites and mirrors for patches, mods, tool and demos on the web.
Ziff Davis is looking to sell or close its videogame related businesses — last year 1UP was sold to UGO, who also expressed interest in acquiring FileFront.
