Ever since Line Rider made its way onto the internet back in 2006 its been a huge success even seeing a retail release for the Wii and Nintendo DS, among other platforms.

Well, it seems that Sparkworkz hasn’t abandoned the Flash version completely as they have just updated the game to beta 3. This new version adds the ability to send 2 riders simultaneously down a user created track. Additionally, beta 3 adds a new line for deceleration and all new camera options.

Capcom, Metaboli, and GameTap have teamed up to bring Street Fighter II: Champion Edition to your web browser. The arcade game has been recreated in Flash by Dotemu, in honor of the recent PC release of Street Fighter IV.

Street Fighter II includes 12 playable characters: Ryu, Ken, Honda, Chun-li, Blanka, Guile, Zangief, Dhalsim, Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M.Bison. All of the regular perks of the game are still in the game, including memorable car bashing and such.

The game itself plays pretty smoothly, but if you’re a real stickler, you will notice some slowdown in response times. You can play the game here.

Microsoft bringing HD ads to Xbox Live

Have you ever been looking at advertisements and gawked at their poor quality, wishing they would be portrayed in HD? No? Me neither. But for those of you who have your days of gawking are numbered.

Microsoft advertising exec Sean Alexander was recently caught speaking about Microsoft’s Flash alternative, Silverlight, and it’s amazing features. Of course, he took the time to tell everyone that Silverlight will give advertisers to ability to display full HD ads pretty much anywhere they want, including Xbox Live.

Now, the feature won’t be added to the Xbox 360 for some time now with Joystiq predicting it will be included with the next major Dashboard update reportedly hitting this fall.

ARMA 2 flash game competition, get a free copy

June 6th, 2009 3 Comments   Posted in FPS, PC

The publishers of ARMA 2 thought it would be a fun idea to release a flash game allowing players to compete for the two top scores for a chance to get the game for free via digital download. Players will be allowed to play the game for the following five weeks, so you better get started soon. But if you dedicate that much time to the Flash game in the first place, it’s probably worth the investment to buy the game itself.

You can play the game on the official website. ARMA 2 will be out on June 26th for the PC and Xbox 360.

Motherload Game Review – Casual Gaming You Can Dig

February 14th, 2009 No Comments   Posted in Action, Casual, Offbeat, Online, PC, Reviews, Simulation

Coming to you from the depths of the XGen Studios vault is a casual browser game that burned through a LOT more time than I care to admit.  It’s called Motherload, and it is indeed a motherload of fun gaming.

In Motherload, you play a miner on the surface of Mars, but you won’t be on the surface very long as you drive your mining buggy down into the Martian soil in search of vast mineral wealth.  You can upgrade your buggy with better hull plating, faster drills, better engines, and a panoply of additional devices including reserve fuel tanks, teleportation systems, and explosives.

Playing Motherload is a lot like playing that old game Dig Dug, only without the enemies and with lots and lots of greed.  Completionists will find this game like crack as they tunnel through the soil and snatch up every last crumb of rock from beneath the planet’s surface.  The graphics are, of course, only inches from 16-bit fugly, but the gameplay is both fluid and compelling, giving you that just-one-more-level feeling until you finally reach the surprise at the end.  And it will be quite the surprise.

Motherload is a fantastic little time-waster that’ll keep you occupied for hours until you finally reach the end, and when you do, you’ll likely leave satisfied, the best measure of a casual game.

Protect President Bush from Shoe Attack in Flash Game

December 15th, 2008 2 Comments   Posted in Free, Media, Shooter

The Iraqi journalist that threw his shoes at President Bush yesterday will enter history. Unfortunately the Flash game in which you have to shoot those shoes in order to protect the president will never make it to those history books

The game appeared less than 24 hours after the incidents which means T-Enterprise really knows its flash programming.

Sadi Chishti, managing director of T-Enterprise, says:

If you watch the video clip, the Secret Service don’t move to protect the President until the second shoe has been thrown. We’re hoping the agents will use this game as a training aid for future footwear attacks on world leaders.

Well yes that’s true but the game is lame.
