Bethesda announced Fallout 3 PS3 DLC date, announces GOTY edition

It was recently announced that the PS3 DLC for Bethesda’s critically acclaimed Fallout 3 will be made available for download on September 24th. This date, however, is just for the game’s first batch of DLC entitled Broken Steel. Operation Anchorage and The Pitt will drop on October 1 while Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta will be dropping on October 8th.
If you’re not willing to download these seperate DLC packs you can just purchase the recently announced Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition for the PC, PS3 or Xbox 360 that includes the full retail game in addition to all of the above mentioned DLC packs.

Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta DLC trailer
A trailer for the upcoming Fallout 3 DLC, Mothership Zeta, has surfaced. In this DLC, the aliens are back and they’re not exactly happy. You’ll even be able to experience an alien abduction first hand. This will be the fifth and final downloadable content available. It will be released August 3rd for the Xbox 360 and PC versions. The PlayStation 3 version will have to wait until the rest of the packs have been released.
What’s left for Fallout 3 after Mothership Zeta has launched? We know that a Game of The Year edition, which includes all five of the DLC installments, will be out in stores this October.
Fallout 3 DLC delayed for PSN, GOTY information soon

Ashley Cheng, a producer at Bethesda Game Studios, brings bad news to Fallout 3 fans today. It turns out that the highly-anticipated Fallout 3 DLC will be seeing a delay. Cheng states that Bethesda is aiming for a late September release. The producer also released a brief look at the upcoming DLC packages:
- Operation: Anchorage – Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders.
- The Pitt – Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh and choose sides in the battle between the slaves and the slavers.
- Broken Steel (pictured below) – Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest and raises the game’s level cap to 30.
- Point Lookout – Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content.
- Mothership Zeta – The aliens have returned, and they’re pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you’re tough enough to survive.
Cheng also gave word that the first DLC to be released will be Broken Steel, followed by Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt (probably at the same time).
A comment posted by a fan asking about the Game of the Year Edition was replied to by Cheng, saying “We’ll have more on the Game of the Year version later. Stay tuned.” So, maybe you’ll want to hold out on all the DLC until the GOTY edition comes out, which usually includes all DLC on the disc.

LittleBigPlanet GOTY edition to include DLC?

It’s no secret that LittleBigPlanet has an extensive library of downloadable content making it almost impossible for gamers new on the scene to keep up. Well, if recent reports are true, Sony is going to make it a lot easier for said gamers to keep on the ball.
Apparently, a LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year edition will be released for the Playstation 3 at some point this year that will include most of the game’s DLC already on the Playstation Network.
While there’s no official confirmation from Sony, I’d say there is a pretty good chance this will happen. I mean, Sony needs something to fill up those Blu-ray discs with, right?
