Off screen screenshots of Halo: Reach

Up until now, we’ve heard almost nothing about Halo: Reach other than the fact that Halo 3: ODST owners would get access to the game’s multiplayer beta. However, today we bring you screen shots of the game taken from, well, a screen.
They aren’t exactly high quality but they definitely give us a glimpse of what the graphics are to look like in the new title and I must say they definitely look on par with recent titles.
When exactly will Halo: Reach hit store shelves? Your guess is as good as ours.
Of course, I don’t think Bungie would appreciate us hosting the images so you’re going to have to head here to check them out.
Halo 3: ODST sells 2.5 million units

Never underestimate a franchise, goes the saying. It certainly rings true to Halo 3: ODST, which has now sold over 2.5 million units, Microsoft told USA Today. The game reached the impressive sales number during only the first two weeks of being released, which almost borders Halo 3’s release numbers. To date, the Halo franchise has sold over 27 million units, Microsoft revealed, and with the momentum ODST is experiencing, there’s a good possibility that it will be the game that breaks the 30 million barrier.

GameStop to host Halo 3: ODST

It was recently made known that a full 3,600 GameStop retail locations across the United States will be holding midnight launch parties for the forthcoming Halo 3: ODST. You had to have seen this coming because, well, it is Halo.
Anyways, the launch parties are said to play host to things such as trivia, give-aways and other normal business. But who cares about that, the only reason you’re buying Halo 3: ODST is for the Halo: Reach beta, right?

Halo 3: ODST Xbox 360 to hit Europe

Considering Modern Warfare 2 is gearing up to be such a big launch Microsoft and Infinity Ward have announced a special edition Xbox 360 console that we showed you earlier today. Well, you didn’t they wouldn’t give Halo 3: ODST the same kind of treatment, did you? OK, good, for what you see above is a Halo 3: ODST Xbox 360 Elite SKU currently schedule for launch only in Europe.
Unfortunately, there will be no ODST brandings on the console itself but it will include Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and the Halo: Reach beta in addition to a Xbox Live 1-month membership card.
There’s no word if us Americans will ever be seeing this SKU but European gamers can expect it to hit store shelves sometime in early October.
Halo 3: ODST live action trailer
Sure, the Halo movie may have been given the axe but that hasn’t stopped Microsoft from releasing the above live action trailer for Halo 3: ODST. Much like the recently released Ratchet & Clank trailer, this will do virtually nothing in terms of gameplay but definitely gives us another perspective on the world of ODST.
Halo 3: ODST will be out for the Xbox 360 on September 22nd, 2009.
Bungie shows off Halo 3: ODST multiplayer maps

We’ve been hinted at these for some time now but finally Bungie has taken the veil off of the 3 all new multiplayer maps that will be included with Halo 3: ODST.
Halo 2 players will recognize the above map as it is a remake of the extremely popular Midship and is now entitled Heretic. The two other maps to be included are Citadel and Longshore and are sure to renew your Halo 3 vibes.
Halo 3: ODST will be on store shelves on September 22nd of this year.
To peep picks of both Citadel and Longshore, head here.
Supposed Halo 3: ODST Achievements Leaked
Website Game-tuts supposedly got an early look at the achievements for Halo 3: ODST and posted it online. I’ve posted it here and if you’re truly concerned with not spoiling the experience of the game I’d advise not watching it. It’s entirely possible that this is something simply ginned up by a savvy hoaxer since things like this abound, but there is the off chance that it’s genuine.
Halo 3: ODST Getting Preorder Bonus
Despite legions of Halo haters, the sci-fi series continues to perform well with thousands of people shooting, blasting and meleeing each other on Xbox Live every day. The newest installment, Halo 3: ODST will be releasing fairly soon, meaning that the marketing blitz begins. Players who pre-order the game will get a bonus character for use in the multiplayer mode.
If you’ve played through any of the single player campaigns you’ll have no trouble recognizing Seargant Avery Junior Johnson, the tough-as-nails cigar chomping soldier who despite being a bit of a cliche still made the series a little more enjoyable. You can use him in the game’s ‘firefight’ mode, an online co-op setting where players battle against waves of increasingly difficult opponents, similar to Gears of War’s ‘Horde’ mode, which seems to be the new trend in multiplayer gaming, a sort of synthesis between the standard team based deathmatches and single player campaigns, allowing for maximum carnage with none of that pesky story to get in the way. If that wasn’t enough, everyone who purchases the game, preorder or no will get access to the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta.
