Man threatens to bomb Bomberman studio, irony ensues

It seems a 29-year-old Japanese man by the name of Takao Ike recently threatened to blow up Hudson Soft’s studios. You know, the developers of the popular Bomberman franchise.

Well Hudson Soft was none too please with this and after recieving 11 threatening emails, decided to call the police which resulted in the mans arrest.

But why did he threaten to bomb the studio? He said he wasn’t happy with the games they were putting out, stating that he “post his demands for the games, but the games didn’t improve.”

Tetris Party Heading to WiiWare Later this Month

tetris party The WiiWare version of classic puzzle game Tetris will be released on the Wii Shop channel later this month. Dubbed Tetris Party, the game will cost 1200 Wii points ($12) and will feature 18 modes of play.

It will also support online multiplayer for up to six players. Interestingly, there will also be a mode that will be controlled entirely by the Balance Board accessory. This will have you leaning forward and backward to control the speed of pieces and squat to rotate them – surefire way of losing a few pounds and having addictive fun at the same time.

Look out for it later this month.

Bomberman Ultra Coming to PSN

Hudson Soft has announced Bomberman Ultra, a downloadable version of its explosive party game. It will hit PlayStation Network this Winter.

Ultra is similar to Bomberman Blast which was released this week on the Wii, featuring 4-player offline multiplayer and 8-player online multiplayer. It will feature HD graphics and support character customization with up to “150,000 possible combinations” of costumes. There will be a total of 14 arenas, and online leaderboards will be there.

No price was given.
