It seems that the trio of Griffin International, XS Games and Bass Pro Shops weren’t satisfied with the current offerings of hunting and fishing games and have decided to take the matters into their own hands.

Recently announcing The Hunt and The Strike which the developers are touting as “the most realistic hunting and fishing experience to-date”. The Hunt will consist of, well, hunting while The Strike centers around fishing. Both include different game-modes and mini-games like boat and ATV racing that will keep you occupied once you get bored of huntin’ and fishin’.

The thing that sets these games apart from the rest, however, are the fishing pole (pictured above) and rifle controllers for use with the game. What sucks is the rifle will only be compatible with the Wii version.

Both The Strike and The Hunt will be available for the Xbox 360, Wii and PC this Fall for $69.99 with the added controller(s) and $39.99 without.

To be published by Emote Games, the game will enter a beta phase scheduled for next month. It intends on supplying players with social networking tools to build a community of hunters online. Sarah Palin might be interested in that…

The game will use Avalanche’s in-house technology and is said to be partly played in a web browser.

Look for it later this year.
