Future Epic titles to have “some Natal support”
More proof that Project Natal will be adopted by well rounded game developers? In a recent interview with OXM,VP of Epic Games, Mark Rein, spoke about the future of Epic in terms of Project Natal.
Below he comments:
“I think any future Xbox games we make will have some Natal support. We always want to have something that exploits the unique capabilities of a platform.”
So, ever though he said it will have Natal support, the key word there is some; that means it could be anything from just a mini game to full game control.
Fat Princess out this Thursday
After an unfortunate delay, we finally have the news that Fat Princess will be hitting the PlayStation Network this Thursday, according to the official PlayStation Blog. This is a simultaneous worldwide release, so North American, European, and Asian markets will all get the game at the same time. The Japanese version, however, is still being worked out.
A nice little interview with developers Chris Millar and Craig Leigh from Titan Studios can be viewed after the jump.
Fat Princess will retail for $14.99.
BioWare: Mass Effect is more than a trilogy
The second Mass Effect is still undergoing development, but that isn’t stopping BioWare from making plans for a trilogy and beyond. In an interview with GamerZines, BioWare vice president Greg Zeschuk revealed that Mass Effect could be seeing more sequels than originally intended.
“We’ve said Mass Effect is supposed to be a trilogy,” said Zeshuck, “so you’re going to see at least a third Mass Effect, and even more if everything goes well.”
The Mass Effect universe is a pretty expandable one, so we could be seeing spin-offs and other types of installments to the franchise. At least we know now that the series is here for good.
Mass Effect 2 is slated for a first quarter 2010 release for the PC and Xbox 360.

Project Natal coming to PC as well?

If a recent interview with Bill Gates is anything to go by, the PC may be getting support for the Xbox 360’s Project Natal at some point in the future.
While he didn’t actually confirm that the technology would be used for the PC he said that it is not just for game buts “media consumption as a whole”. Furthermore, he talked about the possibility of using Project Natal in the the office which adds kindle to the fire because (besides pro-gamers and others) who uses Xbox 360 for their work machine?
Anyways, Project Natal is still a ways off which means that a PC adaptation is probably even farther off.

Christian Bale hasn’t been asked to be in Metal Gear Solid movie

You remember that supposedly leaked Metal Gear Solid: The Movie poster we showed you a few weeks ago, right? Well if The Dark Knight main man Christian Bale is to be believed, that poster was fake, considering it displayed him as playing the main character.
In a recent interview with MTV Multiplayer, when asked if he’s been approached for a Metal Gear Solid movie the actor responded with a modest “No”.
Either way, I don’t think there is any question over whether or not Christian Bale would make an awesome Solid Snake. Get on that Sony!
Shia LaBeuof isn’t into Wii, says it’s for amateurs

Now I’m not one to follow celebrities but ever since Even Stevens, Shia LaBeuof has been hailed as one of my favorite actors. You may know it from Transformers along with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Anyways, during a recent interview with Big Download when questioned about the Wii the actor responded:
“I don’t mess with the Wii, to be honest with you. It’s kind of an amateur console. I’m not into the Wii thing.” And went out to say, “a simple way you can find out if it’ts a game you want to play with. Ask them if they have a Wii. If they say yes, get the f*** out of there.”
Most gamers will probably agree that the Wii isn’t the most hardcore of consoles but with it’s $250 price tag and games like Zelda, Super Smash, and Mario it doesn’t leave hardcore gamers in the dust.
Interview Gives More Fallout 3 DLC Details
An interview linked to from a Facebook Fallout 3 page gave more details regarding the upcoming Fallout 3 content packs, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta. Most of the information contained therein is about the first of the two, likely because it’s the more mundane of the two, featuring more commonplace quests in a new location. They’re keeping a little more of a lid on Mothership Zeta because it’s definitely more unusual.
As you may know, Point Lookout is set in the actual area of the same name, though residents of the area will notice that they have taken a generous amount of artistic license with the geography, they also drew inspiration directly from certain features and landmarks. It’s set in a location that’s not accessible by foot from the rest of the Capital Wasteland and though it wasn’t hit by any bombs it’ll still have evidence of the war, likely in the form of mutated residents.
Things there will be pretty low-tech, with new weapons being more like lever action rifles and double barrelled shotguns. The main thrust of the story will revolve around a ghoul named Desmond and a band of tribals, though there will be other quests to undertake and non-quest related areas to discover.
Mothership Zeta sound very nearly the opposite with a more linear quest and of course more advanced technology. They were pretty tight-lipped regarding anything beyond the most basic details, but what they did give is pretty interesting. The aliens are standard Roswell greys, as were the bodies at the crashed ship, though there’ll be various robots to battle against on their ship. You’ll begin simply trying to escape, though after finding out their aliens ultimate goals you’ll have more to do. There’ll also be other abductees you can interact with, and a new rifle called the disintegrator. Both DLC packs will offer some quest-related perks, but no new level-up perks.
MotionPlus Could Be Required For Next Zelda
With Wii sales beginning to drop off it’s no surprise that Nintendo revealed new games were on the way for their big three: Mario, Zelda and Metroid. The only thing we’ve seen so far was Mario Galaxy 2 and New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but it’s been a foregone conclusion that the Wii would be getting another Zelda game sometime soon.
In an interview with Wired, Shigeru Miyamoto said that in developing the next Zelda game they’re considering whether or not to go with a Wii MotionPlus control scheme. While the extra peripheral would enable even more intuitive control schemes and more realistic inputs, Miyamoto and co are worried about forcing people to use the peripheral since it has only recently launched and its popularity is still unknown. While they hope that the new Zelda game will be exciting and appealing enough to get people to buy the peripheral on its own, their concern is that things will go the other way, with some gamers not playing the title because they’d have to get the accessory.
Ultimately though I’d guess that the Zelda game will include the peripheral since the MotionPlus would allow for a more robust combat system and Zelda fans are rabid enough to pick up a peripheral, especially if there’s a bundle available.

Broken Steel will be released for Fallout 3 on May 5th, mark your calenders.
Harada: Tekken for Wii “very interesting”

Katsuhiro Harada, the director of Tekken 6, had some interesting things to say about bringing a Tekken game to the Wii in an interview with GamePro. When asked if Tekken 5 or Tekken 6 would be heading to the Wii any time soon, he said, “That would be very interesting. Like the Xbox 360 owners, if Wii owners are passionate and make it known they really want the series on their system, we would love to be able to answer that request.”
There has been a serious lack of quality fighting games for the Wii as compared to the other consoles. In fact, the only Tekken game that has been released for any Nintendo system at all is for the Gameboy Advance. “Hearing about the huge number of Xbox 360 owners who are Tekken fans, especially in North America, definitely played a huge part in influencing us to bring the game to that system,” the director said.
So, it’s pretty much up to the fans to voice their opinion about why there’s no Tekken for the Wii yet. For any naysayers about the controls of the said system, Harada had to say, “…the standard controller lacks the right number of buttons and the placement is awkward, so… I suppose the classic controller could handle it!”
Tekken 6 will be heading to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 27th.
