Warriors Orochi 2 dated, new website

The PlayStation Portable port of the hack-n-slash Warriors Orochi 2 has gone gold, and Koei has slapped an August 25th release date for the title. To hype things up a bit more, Koei has also released a nice little mini website for the game, featuring music tracks and videos from the game.
The differences between the port and the original console version is that the portable version will have new playable characters, ad-hoc wireless multiplayer, co-op modes, and 12 new scenarios in Dream Mode.
Free DLC Coming to Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires
Koei has been doing quite well with the Dynasty Warriors series for years now. Sure, they’ve got a lot of reviewers bored to tears by the repetitive gameplay and storylines, but the cult following of the series is quite happy with how things go every time. They’re certainly smart about how they sell it as well, with my brand spanking new copy of Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, purchased on the release date only setting be back a mere $40.
One of the perks of the title is the custom character mode where you can assemble your own legendary warrior(s) for use in the game. You start off with a handful of outfits and though you unlock more as you play, the variety is not as wide as one would hope, but they’re going to remedy this soon via DLC. I definitely feel appreciated as a fan because all the DLC for the game is completely free of charge. They’re also adding in a pack of new background music for those who are a fan of their odd composite of traditional asian music and rock.
Dynasty Warriors 6 Coming To PSP
Ask someone what the Dynasty Warriors series is about and they’ll tell you it’s about richly stylized feudal Chinese warriors thrashing thousands of opponents over an endless series of battles. It’s one of those rare games where the things that some people love are the exact things that other people hate. If you’re like me and can’t get enough of bashing and slashing your way through hordes of enemies, you’ll soon be able to take that sort of fun on the road (or bus or train).
Koei has announced that they’re bringing a new version of the cult favorite to the PSP. It’s not the first title to be made portably in the series, but it’s certainly one of the most exciting since it’s being based off the PS2 version of Dynasty Warriors 6, the most recent title to be released. There’ll be twenty four battlefields and twenty-three generals with story modes to play through including Moukaku (Meng Huo to western gamers) who was included in the PS3 and Xbox 360-only Empires update. As with other PSP titles there’ll be wireless co-op play included so you can team up with a friend. It’s set for release in Japan on September 3rd, with no word yet of a release date elsewhere.

Combine this with the ability to develop your character in so many areas and then team up with your friends and
Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce is already well equipped to capture the imagination of RPG fans and action gamers alike.”

Tecmo Rejects Enix Offer, Pursues Merger With Koei
Denying fans of a ridiculous (yet possible) Final Fantasy Xtreme Beach Volleyball game, Tecmo today rejected the buyout offer from Square Enix, instead opting to push ahead with merger talks with Koei.
A Tecmo statement translated by Kotaku reads that both Koei and Tecmo “have excellent financial positions, strengths and the ability to take advantage of each other in order to improve profitability and solidy the foundation of a worldwide leader.”
Square Enix has disclosed that it will not pursue the Tecmo proposal any further due to the rejection.
