The cute and popular PS3 platform game Little Big Planet is getting a web-based portal for users to share their maps on.

The new web portal was revealed by developer Media Molecule in a game conference in Malmo, Sweden, where players will be able to share and promote their levels. Each level will be given a link to the download, which will then be easily shared on the PS3.

The portal will also feature statistics, leaderboards and create custom apps for services like Flickr and Google Maps. The new portal is in testing and is expected to launch later this year.

Insomniac Games has recently let us know on their official Twitter account that we will be seeing a Ratchet & Clank DLC pack for LittleBigPlanet soon.

Below is the tweet:

We’ll have to wait until the pack is officially announced before we mark this one down as definite but this is a pretty good hint at whats in store. Although, the words “bigger than mgs” sounds pretty good.

Little Big Planet Delayed!

Although the game has technically gone gold, the highly anticipated title Little Big Planet is facing a worldwide delay non the less. The reason for the delay is because of one of the game’s songs containing references to the Qur’an in its lyrics. Sony did the sensible thing, and apologized for the mistake.

“During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.”

The game was intended to release next week, on the 24th. The new release date is October 27th, however, only the American version has been confirmed for that date, and all other regions have not yet had their respective release dates updated.

Little Big Planet Calculator

Isn’t it incredible how people will go out of their way and do tedious time-draining work so that we don’t have to take the time ourselves? An example would be people who write dictionaries or write encyclopedias. One person in particular, who obviously has an unholy amount of free time on their hands, made a calculator in Little Big Planet. If you’re wondering how they programmed it to calculate, the answer is they didn’t. The level works completely mechanically via ropes and levers. The calculator can do addition and subtraction. The video above shows the calculator in action as well as a detailed look at the mechanics behind it.

Little Big Planet Level Mocks 360

Some people just can’t get their heads out of the console wars. Apparently playing a unique exclusive doesn’t help. A player with the PSN tag “Redbullracer” made a Little Big Planet level showing how he views the console differences. I guess he’s calling out the Xbox community to try to make Forged map on Halo 3 which spews anti-Playstation 3 propaganda.

Of course Wii owners don’t have to create anything in Boom Blox because A) The level is only anti Xbox 360, and B) Their console is selling better than gas.
