We only just heard that Lost Planet 2 would be hitting store shelves on May 18th and already more information about the game’s content is coming to light. This tim earound, it focuses on the special costumes which fans of the Gears of War franchise will be happy to hear about.

Included in the retail version of the game will be both Dom and Marcus from said franchise. What’s even better is we’ve included a trailer of the two in action for you above.

Unfortunately we have no details regarting how to obtain the special costumes or anything of that nature but we’ll keep you posted.

Capcom announces date for Super Street Fighter IV, Lost Planet 2

In September of last year Capcom unveiled the latest addition to the Street Fighter franchise; Super Street Fighter IV. At the time of the announcement the only release window we were told was Spring of 2010. Now, Capcom has finally come forth to let us know that the game will be made available for all on April 27th.

Additionally, Capcom also slipped in the news that Lost Planet 2 will be dropping on May 18th.

Which will you guys be picking up?

Capcom expects Lost Planet 2 to sell 3.7 million units

Capcom has made a bold prediction about its upcoming sequel to Lost Planet, tentatively titled Lost Planet 2. The publisher expects to sell 3.7 million units of the game in second half of the 2010 fiscal year, which begins March 2010. It would be quite a feat, since the original Lost Planet sold just over 2 million units.

Capcom Producer: Lost Planet 2 Demo This E3

Eurogamer and Kotaku report that Capcom is planning to release a downloadable demo of Lost Planet 2 for Xbox 360 gamers sometime “round about E3,” which happens to be the first week of June. This reportedly comes from Capcom producer Jun Takeuchi, who was speaking at a recent press event.

It should be noted here that Capcom debuted the first demo of Lost Planet back during E3 2006.

Takeuchi also teased PC and PS3 versions, noting that “it’s running off a PC now, so there may be something we can announce fairly shortly.” As for the PS3: "We would not say that the possibility of a PlayStation 3 version of the game is zero."

The game is expected sometime next year. It has officially only been announced for Xbox 360.

Capcom Chief: Lost Planet and Dead Rising Sequels Next Year

While the existence for Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2 was known for quite some time now, up until now no release date was given. That silence has been broken quite unexpectedly by Capcom US chief Chris Kramer, who confirmed that the games are set for release in 2010.

“Capcom’s kind of on a 30-year high right now,” he said, speaking in the latest Major Nelson podcast.

“It’s a pretty amazing place to be, between everything we’ve got going right now, between the launch of Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5, and our big titles for next year, Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2.”

Capcom’s official stance is that of “we haven’t announced a date yet”, but seeing as how this comes from a rather credible source, it simply cannot be disputed.

Lost Planet 2 Unveiled

Capcom news once more: the company has officially unveiled Lost Planet 2 through a trailer on Xbox Live, fulfilling its promise that a new game would be announced.

While more information is expected later this week, it is known that the game will feature various environments as opposed to the original’s icy ones. In fact, it’s at least partially set in a sunny jungle enevironment, thanks to terraforming.

No platforms were mentioned, though Xbox 360 remains an obvious choice. It will surely come to PS3 and PC seeing as how Capcom has sworn off platform exclusivity for its upcoming releases.
