It would be only natural that a LEGO game would allow you to create maps, so this is a step in the right direction for the franchise. However, level creation is limited to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii systems. No word on whether the feature will be included in the PC, Nintendo DS, or PSP versions of The Adventure Continues.

LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues will be out in North America on November 20th.

It seems that almost all game companies are on the short-message service these days, making announcements left and right.

The latest such announcement comes from LucasArts, who promises to unveil “exciting news” based on an existing franchise tomorrow. Here’s what they wrote: "Amazing news coming Monday! Super excited! You have no idea how tough it is not to start yelling about it! But it’s secret! Until Monday!"

Said to be “awesome news for old school fans,” the announcement is most likely to be related to the company’s classic adventure games or even DLC. It could be a remake of Monkey Island, or a completely new sequel. However, many are betting their money on Star Wars Battlefront III, though how that appeals to “old school fans” I have no idea.

It can also be pointed out that the game’s demo also set records, seeing over one million downloads on Xbox Live in a week.

The game, while not received well by critics, can also thank its success for being released on every imaginable platform in the market – all except for PC. It was released on PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii, Xbox 360, DS, iPod, iPhone, N-Gage and other mobile platforms.

LucasArts however is countering these rumors, saying that the studio “remains absolutely committed to the Indiana Jones franchise. While we are aware that fans have been eagerly awaiting additional information on the upcoming game, they can rest assured that details are forthcoming.”

As you might imagine it’s hard to say exactly what’s going on with the game but with LucasArts’ propensity for sticking with their major IPs it’s likely that fans will still see an Indiana Jones game. It might be even longer than expected, because one possible reason for the rumors that the project has been scrapped is that in a way the rumors are true. It could be that the game has gone back to the drawing board in its current form and has to be redesigned from the ground up.

The company’s COO Vik Sohal said: “… just been released last week on the internet, the Force Unleashed demo on both the PS3 and Xbox 360. We have a PC version as well.”

The above comment was made at NVIDIA’s recent NVISION 08 Conference. However, the rumor, as juicy as it was, has been smashed by LucasArts, who was unequivocal in its denial that a PC version is in the works: “I can tell you definitively that there is no PC version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed planned.”

There you have it – rumor started and smashed at the same time.
