Madden 10 ships 3.7 million copies

One of EA’s most lucrative franchises, the Madden franchise’s latest iteration, Madden 10 has shipped 3.7 million copies since its release in August, EA revealed. However, the game was off to a bad start, with sales being down 19% compared to Madden 09, but it did rebound in September and sales have increase thanks to the PS3 price drop. Madden 09 was the best selling Madden game of all time, and it’s going to be a tough job outselling it, especially during this economy.

Rumor: PS3 Slim bundled with Madden 10 next month

Here we go again, more PS3 Slim rumors — Buzz circulating the internet suggests that the PS3 Slim bundle is, in fact, coming to market this August bundled with Madden NFL 2010.
This rumor comes to us from the 1UP.com’s latest podcast in which David Ellis has been quoted to say:
It’s gonna be in August. Everything I’ve heard says it’s coming in August, it’s tied with Madden.
And, to add even more heat to the flame, Ellis said that this may have been the cause for Activision’s much publicized threat against Sony. Apparantly, the megapublisher was mad that Sony had opted to bundle an EA game with the console as opposed to an Activision one.
Take this as you will but at this point it remains just a rumor. We’ll have to wait until next month before we find out if a PS3 Slim is actually on its way to market.
Madden NFL 10 to feature online co-op

EA Sports seems to wanna break the age old Madden formula: same game, update the interface and rosters. They’re doing this by including genuinely new features to Madden 10, like the new online co-op play.
Two players will be able to team up and play a game against the computer controlled opponent. If you’re playing by yourself, your friends can easily pop in and help you — if you want. More info about the new feature is expected at E3, which begins on Monday.
New Madden NFL 10 details revealed

Madden 10’s August 14th release date grows ever closer with each passing day — To start the hype train back up, Tiburon has recently released some new features being added to the game.
First up is a feature the developers are calling Pro-tak, Joystiq is reporting this new feature will allow for more realistic defense tackling along with improved evasive maneuvers for the quarter back. Best of all, Pro-tak will allow defensemen to gang up on an opposing player, the result? Up to 9 man gang tackles.
One of the biggest gripes non-Madden-heads have about the franchise is the fact that the games are realistically long so, to combat this, Tiburon is introducing Madden NFL Your Way. This new feature allows players to tweak the game’s play calling system. Coupled with faster clocks and “streamlined presentation” Madden NFL Your Way will let you make a game as short, or as long, as you want.
