Microsoft looking to hire 18 employees for Project Natal

If you’re looking to get in on what is sure to be one of the hottest game releases of 2010, you should check this out — Microsoft has recently put up a web page letting us know that they are looking to bring 18 new developers on board to develop exclusively for their forthcoming motion controller codenamed Project Natal.
Of course, the jobs are all based out of Redmond, Washington where Microsoft Game Studios is headquarter so those not willing to relocate need not apply.

Alan Wake for PC canned, becomes 360 exclusive
PC gaming is always on the decline, and today’s news doesn’t bring hope to any PC gamers. Speaking to Digital Spy, a representative at Remedy Entertainment said that a PC version of Alan Wake has been canceled, and that they are working exclusively on an Xbox 360 version.
“Our PC plans are currently open [and] therefore a joint PC/Xbox launch is not possible at this late stage,” said the representative. “Remedy has a deep heritage in PC gaming and we would love to see a PC version available for our PC followers. Ultimately, however, this is a decision that lies with our publisher.”
So, Microsoft is preventing a title from releasing on the PC themselves? Reasons they want to phase out the PC for gaming is beyond me. Alan Wake is expected to be on shelves Spring 2010.

Lionhead’s Peter Molyneux was promoted today to the Creative Director of Microsoft Game Studios, Europe. Although, Molyneux will still be assuming his responsibilites as the head of Lionhead.
“What you’re not going to see is ten Peter Molyneux games,” Molyneux said. “The value of this role is for someone like myself going in and making those little tiny lights of an idea shine as brightly as possible and ensuring everybody within the organisation clearly understands why we’re making those titles, the purpose of those titles and their importance to Microsoft overall.”

Forza 3 In-game Posters Revealed
Coming as no surprise, Xbox 360 Fanboy reports of leaked assets for Forza Motorsport 3, the third entry in the racing simulation franchise that has done well for Microsoft over the years, that reveal something very interesting: in-game race posters.
Apparently, Microsoft Game Studios has sub-contracted Kaarbo Designs to create menu graphics for the game; the in-game race posters were posted on the company’s website and were promptly removed before being saved by Internet detectives. In response, Kaarbo has said that the posters “are only samples and are not to be used.”
Even then, the posters are sleek as hell! The game looks to be becoming quite the monster, with rumors noting that the DVD format has become an issue. It supposedly features over 400 cars and 100 tracks and will likely ship on two separate discs. Forza 3 is expected to be shown at this year’s E3.
Microsoft Defends Decision to Close Ensemble
Following word that Ensemble Studios, developer of Age of Empires and the upcoming Halo Wars, would close, publisher Microsoft Game Studios came forward to defend its decision.
It was “the right thing for our business at this time,” noted MGS head Phil Spencer in an internal email obtained by Gamesindustry. He reaffirmed the studio’s commitment to game development, adding that they will “continue to bring in talent to work on titles and franchises where we’ll see the most.”
As for the employees who will be left without a job, Spencer committed that they will be integrated into Microsoft Game Studios or the broader Interactive Entertainment team where they have relevant openings.
