New Xbox Experience with next issue of Official Xbox Mag

It seems that Microsoft isn’t happy with just including the New Xbox Experience on upcoming game discs and decided to add another approach.

The NXE dashboard update will be on a CD included with the next issue of Official Xbox Magazine.

So, for those of you unconnected old-dashboard-lovin’ Xbox owners, don’t insert that shiny lookin’ disc included with OXM, no matter how pretty it looks.

Yes, it’s true, some Xbox 360 owners out there are still playing with the old Xbox dashboard. Crazy, I know.

Well it looks like developers are giving them a push in the right direction. It was recently announced that the update for the dashboard will be included in upcoming titles.

Two games confirmed to have included the update are Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X and MLB NK9, now lets just hope those sorry souls buy them.

If you want to get your hands on the much-hyped complete Xbox 360 dashboard overhaul, then you better get on the phone with your local BestBuy to see if they have the software up for preview.

It seems one lucky gamer who just so happen to be browsing through BestBuy happened upon the Xbox 360 display unit which had none other than the NXE. The above picture was taken at a BestBuy near St. Louis so there is no telling if other BestBuys are doing the same.

In anticipation of the upcoming New Xbox Experience, Microsoft issued word that some of its users won’t be able to jump on the Avatars bandwagon as they lack the one thing needed most: memory.

Three models of Xbox 360 units are available at retail, with the cheapest one lacking the much-needed hard drive for the dashboard overhaul due next month.

"The New Xbox Experience will require 128MB of free space," reads the company’s press release. "While we expect the majority of consumers to download the New Xbox Experience without a problem, a small percentage of Xbox 360 owners do not have enough memory to accommodate the update."

The company noted that it will offer storage solutions to the Xbox Live community, though it declined to offer further details. The New Xbox Experience is due November 19.

New Xbox Experience Available Worldwide On November 19th

Can’t wait to give your Xbox great and innovative features like coverflow and Miis? Well Microsoft has finally revealed the date on which the winter fall update will be made available. On November 19th, in twenty six countries and supporting nineteen languages, the “New Xbox Experience” update will be online for download. That is in just over a month.

The work on the dashboard update is done, so I guess that means that the “New Xbox Experience” has essentially gone gold. Microsoft hasn’t mentioned how big the update will be, but I imagine that it shouldn’t take anything longer than fifteen minutes to, at absolute most, half an hour to download.
