Namco Bandai dates Clash of the Titans

Namco Bandai has today let us know that the video game based on Clash of the Titans is in fact going to make its way onto North American shelves.
Exactly when, we aren’t sure but the developer has said that sometime in spring of next year the title will be made available for purchase for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. Namco Bandai hypes up the game a bit by saying they, “promise an unprecedented experience for video game and movie fans alike.”

Resonance of Fate getting simultaneous EU and US release
Europe gets video game releases much later than its North American counterpart. This is fact, and it’s not fair. Fortunately, Sega Europe is making efforts to make sure that each continent gets equal treatment. Speaking to VideoGamer, localization producer Jun Yoshino has confirmed that Resonance of Fate will be seeing a simultaneous European and North American release.
“America and Europe is the same release. Usually the European version comes a year after, let’s say the Japanese release,” Yoshino said. “During the year, a lot of people are going to like, well this is old news now. We’re going to be losing a lot of interest if there is such a long time as a year. We’ve scheduled it in so we can get it out as quick as possible.”
Resonance of Fate will be released Spring of 2010, and the fourth quarter of this year in Japan.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky dated for US
Nintendo of America has announced that Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky will be seeing an October 13th release date, as opposed to the September 23rd date we saw back in E3.
The game will have the option to play as one of 19 different Pokémon, which will allow you to interact with over 490 Pokémon.
Explorers of Sky was released in Japan last April, and will be hitting Europe later this year, followed by a 2010 Australian release.
Bionic Commando now out for PC in US
Capcom’s Bionic Commando. North American gamers can now download the game straight off of content distribution service Steam, or buy the retail disc from stores. The Steam version can be purchased with Bionic Commando: Rearmed, which also comes out today, for a $44.99.
The action platformer was released in Europe back on the 17th for the PC, along with May console releases worldwide, excluding Japan. This is one of the only instances that I can think of in which Europe received a game earlier than North America.
Nintendo of America: No colored Wii planned

While the attractive black Wii makes its way onto Japanese shelves on August 1st, one can’t help but wonder if the color will also be coming to North America. Responding to GameDaily’s question to Nintendo of America if there are any plans to bring the SKU to the States, the company simply said “There are no plans to have other colors of Wii in the U.S.”
Be assured though, this doesn’t mean that there will never be multicolored Wii’s in America; Nintendo is notorious for pimping out the colors of the rainbows on all of their systems. Going back to the days of the Nintendo 64 and Gameboy Pocket, the company is almost guaranteed to release different hues of their console. However, these releases are usually made in the middle of the lifespan of the consoles.

No Nier for Japan?

Yousuke Saito, the executive producer of Nier, said in a group interview at E3 that they don’t know if Nier will be seeing a Japanese release. Due to focus on the American and European releases, the game is supposedly, according to Square Enix, not marketable to Eastern audiences.
Other reasons for the game not hitting the land of the rising sun include the “mature protagonist”, which is in contrast to the stereotypical young Japanese hero that we see in most Japanese titles. The publishers themselves are a Japanese based company, so it is a bit ironic their own country won’t be seeing the game.
Nier is scheduled to release sometime next year for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

DSi sales numbers don’t fail to impress

For anyone who thought that a third addition to the Nintendo DS line wasn’t going to spurr the interest of consumers, think again.
Despite the downed economy Nintendo’s latest handheld, the Nintendo DSi, managed to sell in excess of 600,000 units in the United States and Europe on its release weekend. 300,000 units in each territory alone.
Considering the success of the Wii, and pretty much everything else Nintendo slaps their name on, this announcement is sure to have Nintendo jumping for joy, or jumping into their piles of money.

Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 Pushed Back
Delays are inevitable in video game development. Many wail and gnash their teeth, others simply maintain a calm air and assert that more studio time means the game will be sharpened and polished before release. Koei just announced that Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2, the newest in the seemingly endless stream of Dynasty Warriors games is going to shipping to North America on April 21st.
The announcement has been picked up by many sites, but few of them are reporting that this is in fact a delay. The game was originally scheduled to ship on March 27th. With great reluctance I join my voice to the wailing of the teeth gnashers in this case. The official announcement gives no details regarding why the game is being delayed and the why is pretty puzzling as the game was released three months ago in Japan and the quality of translated dialog in Dynasty Warriors has never been Shakespearian in quality.
Resident Evil 5 Demo to Arrive Early 2009

The North American demo of Resident Evil 5 has been confirmed by Capcom. It will arrive sometime early next year and you’ll be able to test the game and re-test it and ultimately it will make you crave for more. The game is supposed to come out on March 13th which means the demo should arrive in the very near future.
Capcom has delayed the demo release due to various complications. That’s what it said when speaking with MTV Multiplayer in San Francisco. Well complications occur all the time! What’s important is that the demo is coming soon.
