Call of Duty 1 on Xbox Live and PSN ‘eventually’
If you’ve been paying attention you’ll know that both the Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition and Prestige Edition comes with a token for a digital download the original Call of Duty (now called Call of Duty: Classic).
Well, it looks like those who want just Call of Duty 1 and not Modern Warfare 2 have some time to wait as Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward has commented on the classic’s public availability:
“Prestige and Hardened Edition buyers will be getting access to Call of Duty: Classic first. It’ll eventually be coming out for both Xbox Live Arcade and PSN as a stand-alone arcade game.”
That could mean days or possibly even months after Modern Warfare 2 is released. Alternatively, you can just hop on Amazon.com and purchase the original PC game for under $12. Now that’s a bargain!

No collector’s editions Modern Warfare 2 for PC gamers

Are you a PC gamer? Have you been eyeballin’ the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition that features working night vision goggles? Well, there’s good news and some bad news.
The good news is you’re going to be saving close to $100 when you pick up Modern Warfare 2 this November. The bad news? Well, you’re going to be saving that money because Activision has announced that there will be no PC version of the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition, hell, there won’t even be a Hardened Edition.
So yes, you’re going to be stuck just playing the game rather than galavanting around in night vision goggles, bummer.

MW2 Hardened Edition to cost $80, Prestige Edition price still unknown

Earlier today we gave you a glimpse at what the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition will look like when it’s made available on November 10th. However, we were left without a price point for the NVG touting bundle.
Well we now know that the lesser special edition, the Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition, will sell for $80. Considering all that you’ll get with the Hardened Edition is a steel case, art book and Call of Duty 1 XBL/PSN download token, you can get an idea of comparison.
Is anyone out there still going to purchase the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition even if it costs $150? What about $200? Knowing Activision, it’s likely to be up there.

Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition includes Night Vision Goggles

Last weekend, Infinity Ward Community Manager Robert Bowling let us know that he would be doing an unboxing of the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition at some point in the near future. Well, the time has come and from the looks of it, Infinity Ward and Activision have really gone above and beyond to make this collector’s edition unique.
As you can see above, the most prominent inclusion are the fully functioning, Modern Warfare 2 branded night vision goggles and included sculpted head to display said goggles. Other than that you’re going to see your run-of-the mill art book, special boxes, the works. The developers even went so far as to provide a token for an Xbox Live/PSN download of the original Call of Duty.
You’re probably wonder, how expensive is the Prestige Edition going to be? Unfortunately, it hasn’t been announced so we’ll just have to wait until Modern Warfare 2’s November 10th launch to find out.
Unboxing video included after the break.
