PixelJunk Monsters Invading PSP
The awesomeness that is PixelJunk Monsters will arrive on the PSP this fall, according to publisher Sony.
Originally a PS3 tower defense force game by Q-Games, the enhanced version will feature all of the console content and its Encore add-on, as well as new stages, enemies and towers. Gameplay remains intact, so this is mostly for those who want some PixelJunk action on-the-go.
The PSP version also adds an online co-op mode for two players, along with offline ad hoc co-op, one upping the PS3 version that only supports two local players.
Star Fox creator not interested in developing for Wii
The original creator of the Star Fox series and founder of Q-Games, Dylan Cuthbert, said in an interview with G4 that he is not interested in making a Star Fox game for the Wii. Cuthbert was responsible for both the original Star Fox and Star Fox Command.
In response to why there isn’t a Star Fox for the Wii, he said “The problem with that is that it’d be a big project, like 100 people on the staff. It’s just not something we really want to do. I’m sure someone will make it. Maybe they’ll go back to Namco.”
An actual flying Star Fox game is what has been missing from a Nintendo console for far too long. When asked about why Fox has stepped out of the Arwing, Cuthbert attributed it all to Shigeru Miyamoto. “I think that’s all Miyamoto. Whenever I speak to Miyamoto about Star Fox, he says it’s not meant to be just a flying, sci-fi shooting game. It’s meant to be anything we want to think up. But the core fans don’t want that, but Miyamoto doesn’t really care about that. He wants to make what he wants to make, so he just goes ahead and gets it done.”
In case you have tears in your eyes, don’t cry just yet; the creator hasn’t ruled the Wii out completely. He did say that he could consider developing a title taking advantage of the Motion Plus.
