New Resistance 2 content March 26th

It was recently announced at GDC 09 that Resistance 2 will be getting both free and premium DLC packs on March 26th.
Included in the free pack is the all new ‘Meltdown’ multiplayer mode along with a harder co-op difficulty setting that rewards the player with a boosted amount of EXP.
The premium Aftermath map pack, priced at $5.99, will include a bunch of maps new maps that are smaller than maps previously seen in Resistance 2. Also included in the pack are some new skins priced at $0.99 each.
Look out for all of this content to hit PSN on March 26th.

PS3 Games Sell Big in 2008
Two of last year’s biggest PS3 releases have wowed gamers and critics alike, but have they wowed retail? According to the NPD Group, who has released the launch-to-date sales of LittleBigPlanet and Metal Gear Solid 4, the two games have.
LBP managed to sell 611,000 copies in the US since its release in October. Meanwhile, Resistance 2, which came out in November, has sold 598,000 copies since launch.
MGS 4, released to much critical acclaim, managed to sneak over 1 million copies to US homes last year. Almost 75% of its sales happened during the month of June – when it was launched – with the rest coming in the second half of the year.
Sony Delays Resistance 2 beta

Those looking forward to the Resistance 2 beta are in for some bad news, Sony has suspended beta keys due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
This comes as especially bad news to those waiting on further information from IGN, who was supposed to give away some beta keys, until they were informed by Sony of the above mentioned delay.
Resistance 2 is currently undergoing the final stages of development by Insomniac Games and is due for a North American release of November 4th. Digital Battle will keep you updated on chances to snag some beta keys when they are made available.

Resistance 2 "Almost Done"
Talking to Gamespot, Insomniac head honcho Ted Price revealed that Resistance 2 is almost done.
“The game is just about finished as I write this,” he said. “Yet the three to four weeks before we deliver a final disc to the factory are always the most difficult.”
This is the time where they are “fixing bugs, adding tons of polish, making tuning tweaks, and trying to keep our builds stable for the testing team.”
The game recently entered beta status, letting interested gamers check out the multiplayer aspects of the game.
Resistance 2 is due out on the PS3 November 4.
Resistance 2 Beta Signups Open
The time is finally here for the raging resistance! Sony Computer Entertainment America has opened up an online application form for the beta test of Resistance 2, the upcoming highly anticipated single/multiplayer shooter.
Those who want to get in should have already pre-ordered the game or subscribed to Qore, Sony’s digital magazine, but those who don’t want to shell out the money can apply through the game’s website. Interested applicants will have to be over 18 years old and provide their PlayStation Network IDs.
The beta test will offer two multiplayer modes, supporting up to 60 players and 8-player cooperative play. It will start early next month.
Resistance 2 Release Date, Collector’s Edition Details
Publisher SCEA today announced that Resistance 2 will hit the states November 4 exclusively on the PS3.
The company also revealed that the public beta program will launch in early October, allowing GameStop pre-order customers and Qore subscribers to experience the game’s 60-person online multiplayer and 8-player online co-op one month before the general public.
As expected, the game will be released in both regular and collector’s editions going for $59 and $79, respectively.
The Collector’s edition will include an exclusive Chimeran Hybrid action figure with Bullseye weapon, an art book, exclusive in-game multiplayer weapon skin, special edition cover artwork, a preview of the upcoming Resistance novel, behind-the-scenes video and more.
