Band Hero trailer hits the web

Didn’t know that Activision was gearing up release a game entitled Band Hero? Yeah well, I wish I didn’t either.
Anyways, Activision has recently released a trailer for none other than Band Hero. But wait, didn’t they add full band support to Guitar Hero: World Tour? Yes, but it’s Activision we’re talking about here.
Anyways, the trailer doesn’t show much other than what we’d except (band play) but it does show us a few songs that will be included in the game.

Activision thinks DJ Hero is worth its ridiculous price

It wasn’t too long ago that we discovered that DJ Hero would be priced around $120 for the US and even higher for the UK which had a lot of gamers asking Activision ‘what gives?’.
Well, when asked the same question by Eurogamer, they responded with “We believe that DJ Hero will provide tremendous value for our consumers by delivering an all-new interactive music experience with over 100 individual songs that are highlighted in over 80 unique mixes, a wide variety of…” you get the point.
Activision apparantly thinks DJ Hero will be an amazing game, however much of the community thinks otherwise. I guess we’ll have to wait until its October 27th release date to find out.

Activision shows off Guitar Hero 5 box art

The traditional unveiling of a game’s box art always happens when the community has stopped buzzing about a game. It does make sense, publishers want more hype etc. But anyways — Activision is proud to show off the box art for their upcoming Guitar Hero 5.
So yeah, check out the box art above and prepare for its September 1st release date on the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Wii.
Any bets on how long Activision will continue the Guitar Hero franchise until the community grows tired? I have my money on at least Guitar Hero 15.
Pop’n Music for Wii announced, doesn’t stay true to arcade version

If you’ve ever played the arcade game Pop’n Music you’ll know that more than half the fun is smacking the different colored buttons in conjunction with the on screen happenings.
Well, Konami has just announced a Wii version Pop’n Music and unfortunately, it’s nothing like its arcade counterpart. Instead of smacking multi colored buttons you will be moving the Nunchuk and Wii Mote “up, down, left and right”.
Yup, the game’s been childified. If you still want to get your hands on this sure-to-be dissapointing version of Pop’n Music you can do so this fall.

Best Buy Holds Video Game Clearance Sale
Best Buy is holding a large video game sale for most consoles like the Xbox 360, Playstation and Wii today. Prices have all been marked down to $9.99, a far cry from their original prices which started at $60.
Over 100 games are on sale, but if you don’t want to wade through the whole list, here’s a few recommendations. Xbox 360 owners could do a lot worse than C&C: Red Alert 3, Condemned 2, and Devil May Cry 4. On PS3, Pure, Guitar Hero 3, and Soul Calibur 4 are good choices. On the Wii, the selection’s not quite so good, but Samba de Amigo’s a great choice if you like off-beat rhythm games.
Just like the famed sales made by Circuit City some months back, you better get to Best Buy quick if you want to get hold of those games for a steal!
