Konami bringing Monster Finder to the US?

In early September we were notified that Alpha Unit’s Monster Finder was to be the first ever Nintendo DSi exclusive title on the market. However, there was no word on when, if ever, the game would be hitting North American Shelves.
However, a recent listing on GameFly’s website has let us know that Konami will be publishing the game in January 2010. Is this to be believed? Well, GameFly is a pretty credible source but until Konami, or anyone involved, says something there
GameStop listing hints at Xbox 360 Wireless N network adapter price and release date

GameStop has recently put up a listing for the Xbox 360 Wireless N network adapter that we’ve been hearing about for some time now that lets us know of both a release date and price.
Of course, GameStop has been known to put up phoney release dates as a place holder until the manufacturer actually speaks of one but they currently have the adapter listed as releasing on October 3rd at $99.99.
A steep price but if you’re looking to ramp up your wireless connection this is your answer.
GameStop to purchase GameFly?

GameStop is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) game retailers in the entire United States but currently they do not offer rentals like companies such as GameFly. That may all change if recent rumors floating around regarding a possible buyout are to be believed.
Apparently, the Antioch Grove was on hand at a Halo 3: ODST event hosted by GameStop where a representative hinted at a possible buyout. Below is an excerpt from their coverge:
“Perhaps even more interesting than all of the buzz and activity surrounding the event, was a conversation that we had with a few of the Gamestop employees who were helping to host the event. After lamenting about the poor customer experience from the video game by mail company Gamefly, we asked why Gamestop didn’t come up with their own games by mail program, so that residents could get their games from the mail or locally. Pretty much all of the employees agreed that this would be a fine addition to the Gamestop family, but it was what they said afterwards that was a bit surprising.
Apparently, the water cooler gossip around the Antioch and Brentwood stores is that “someone” (Gamestop) is planning on buying out Gamefly before the end of the year. When pressed for more details on the subject, the Gamestop representatives grew quiet and didn’t provide a lot of details, but most of the employees in attendance seemed pretty confident about the rumor. Having a hot game come into town for a preview is exciting, but would pale in consideration to how big this would be. We’re still keeping this one on rumor status until we can get more concrete information, but it definitely caught our attention and something that we will keep our eyes open for.”
If/when this deal goes down it is sure to make GameStop a force to be reckoned with, as if it wasn’t already.
Rumor: PS3 Slim bundled with Madden 10 next month

Here we go again, more PS3 Slim rumors — Buzz circulating the internet suggests that the PS3 Slim bundle is, in fact, coming to market this August bundled with Madden NFL 2010.
This rumor comes to us from the 1UP.com’s latest podcast in which David Ellis has been quoted to say:
It’s gonna be in August. Everything I’ve heard says it’s coming in August, it’s tied with Madden.
And, to add even more heat to the flame, Ellis said that this may have been the cause for Activision’s much publicized threat against Sony. Apparantly, the megapublisher was mad that Sony had opted to bundle an EA game with the console as opposed to an Activision one.
Take this as you will but at this point it remains just a rumor. We’ll have to wait until next month before we find out if a PS3 Slim is actually on its way to market.
Saints Row title coming to PSP?

While it hasn’t been talked about much (or at all) it seems that a Swedish metal band by the name of Opeth has given us word that they have been selected to feature a song in an upcoming PSP version of Saints Row.
Below is an excerpt of their post:
We may not like playing video games all that much but we do like it when our music is featured on them! Makes us a bit proud even when it’s a game as big as Saints Row for the PSP and even prouder when the nice developer people show excellent taste by picking “The Lotus Eater” for it. So if you love playing video games: the game is expected to hit the streets around March 2010.
As with any rumor, take this with a grain of salt, but Opeth did seem positive one of their songs would be featured in said game, add that to the fact that THQ hasn’t said anything at all thus far.
We’ll update you with more information as it becomes known.

Project Natal coming to PC as well?

If a recent interview with Bill Gates is anything to go by, the PC may be getting support for the Xbox 360’s Project Natal at some point in the future.
While he didn’t actually confirm that the technology would be used for the PC he said that it is not just for game buts “media consumption as a whole”. Furthermore, he talked about the possibility of using Project Natal in the the office which adds kindle to the fire because (besides pro-gamers and others) who uses Xbox 360 for their work machine?
Anyways, Project Natal is still a ways off which means that a PC adaptation is probably even farther off.

LittleBigPlanet GOTY edition to include DLC?

It’s no secret that LittleBigPlanet has an extensive library of downloadable content making it almost impossible for gamers new on the scene to keep up. Well, if recent reports are true, Sony is going to make it a lot easier for said gamers to keep on the ball.
Apparently, a LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year edition will be released for the Playstation 3 at some point this year that will include most of the game’s DLC already on the Playstation Network.
While there’s no official confirmation from Sony, I’d say there is a pretty good chance this will happen. I mean, Sony needs something to fill up those Blu-ray discs with, right?

Complete list of Guitar Hero 5 tracks compiled

It seems that our friends over at Joystiq have taken the time to thumb through every Guitar Hero 5 announcement thus far and compile a master list of tracks that will be featured in the game.
If you’ve been paying attention you’ll have already seen all of these tracks in bits and peices over the last couple of months. However, the end of the list also lets us know that musicians such as Kurt Cobain and Johnny Cash will be featured as characters in the game.
Guitar Hero 5 will be out for PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii on September 1st of this year.
Full track list after the break.
Miyamoto Tells Fans To Be Patient For New Kid Icarus Game
In his early days Kid Icarus’s Pit seemed poised to be one of Nintendo’s flagship characters. He had his own villains, platforming adventures and the inevitable Gameboy title. He was even a supporting character on the cartoon Captain N, but soon he disappeared. His return has been a rumor that’s failed to materialize at the last two E3 conferences, but his inclusion in Smash Bros. Brawl suggests that there might a return for Pit.
If it is coming though, it’s not going to be any time soon. In Nintendo Power Shigeru Miyamoto said ”Wait, please. I’m really surprised how popular that is,” when prodded about the possibility of a new Kid Icarus game. Given that other more marginal characters were used in Smash Bros. including Captain Falcon and Fox McCloud Pit simply could have been rounding out a roster with some less familiar faces, but since Miyamoto hasn’t ever given a definite ‘no’, things are still up in the air.
New Mechwarrior Game Underway?
Whether they transform into cars, jets, or simply bring incredible amounts of firepower to bear on anything in their path gamers have a long love affair with giant robots. The sheer number of games involving mechanized engines of destruction is daunting, in many ways making up its own sub-genre whose titles range from ancient titles in the dim origins of gaming to modern titles brimming over with special effects.
The undisputed king of the giant robots though has always been the now-defunct FASA’s Mechwarrior series, known for its customization and strategy as much as for its action. The last two titles in the franchise have both been Xbox releases which were met with less than open arms by the majority of Mechwarrior fans.
Since then the studios behind them have been closed by Microsoft, but there is light at the end of the tunnel for fans of the IP, because in 2007 FASA founder Jordan Weisman bought the rights to his company’s old games and now word is beginning to slip that we might be looking at the revival of the franchise. Piranha game’s website lists that they are working on a AAA licensed franchise for the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360, while Voodoo Extreme has a nine second clip posted that shows a single leg of a gigantic machine.
PSP Go won’t have faster CPU, faster USB instead

Last week a leaked FCC document showed that the PSP Go would have a beefed up, yet underclocked, 480MHz processor, or so we thought.
Today, Sony has released a statement detailing the fact that the 480Mhz will actually be used to clock the USB transfer rather than a CPU.
Total bummer, looks like we won’t be seeing any beefed up PSP graphics thanks to an updated processor. Oh well, maybe next time.

Sony to release PS3 slim in July?

The PS3 slim rumor has been around for some time now with its supposed retail box surfacing in early May. Since then, the buzz has quieted a bit and nothing much has been said about the PS3 slim, until now.
The latest rumor says that Sony is placing manufacturing orders with a Tiawanese company who will supposedly be making the PS3 slim. Furthermore, the orders are said to be ready for delivery by next month.
Are these rumors true? Like always, there is no telling until we hear official word from Sony. Perhaps if these rumors aren’t true we will see a PS3 slim come out when those reported price cuts roll around.
