Valkyria Chronicles 2 website launched, new media

July 18th, 2009 1 Comment   Posted in Adventure, PSP, Portable, RPG

The official Japanese website for Sega’s Valkyria Chronicles 2 has launched recently, and along with the site comes some new screenshots for the game. Most of the content as of now is purely Japanese text, so you won’t benefit from it unless you can read Kanji.

Featured on the site is a blog which contains said screenshots, and an information page explaining the game’s concept. While you can’t expect the game to look as good as its home console counterpart, for the most part it looks impressive.

Valkyria Chronicles is slated for a winter release in Japan, with no planned release date in any other part of the world.

It looks like someone has uploaded a few screenshots from the upcoming first person shooter MAG: Massive Action Game. The screenshots are available via Flickr, uploaded by someone under the username “1337guyzorz”. Included with the screenshots are some neat character art.

The source of the photos is unknown, however. They are not official screenshots from Sony, but they seem legitimate enough. You can view the set here. MAG will be out for the PS3 later this year.

It’s been a little while since We’ve had news on Resident Evil 5. Rather than let people forget how good the graphical elements are, Capcom has released not one, not two, not three, not five, but four new screenshots. The four screenshots show everything from a dirt bike race to a thing that looks like a cross between Thor and the grim reaper (I assume it’s a zombie). You can view the pictures after the jump.

First GTA: Chinatown Wars Screens and Details

September 21st, 2008 No Comments   Posted in News, Nintendo DS

Finally, after months of waiting, Nintendo has revealed via Nintendo Power the first set of details concerning the DS exclusive Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. The first thing that people are wondering is about the gameplay, and whether or not the lower hardware power of the DS will lead to the usual GTA gameplay elements to be compromised. The short answer is, no, they have not. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will, in fact not only have the sandbox gameplay, with a 3D, cel-shaded, city, with various cars, citizens, a 24 hour day, with different weather effects, but the title will also be rated M. The missions will be designed for shorter, more frequent, play times. There will be radio stations, although most of the music will be instrumental only (I assume because of the preference of MIDI music on the DS).

The game will implement stylus controls, with aiming being controlled with the controlled pad. Players can switch to auto aim with th R bumper. The User interface will be handled through a PDA. Players can veiw their contacts, emails, stats, map, GPS, and the music player, through the PDA.

In addition to the game details, you can view the first screenshots after the jump.

The other day a new Batman game based on the graphic novel “Arkham Asylum” was announced. Today several screenshots have popped up.

The game looks visually stunning if the screenshots are any indication. Not just graphically either, but artistically it looks very interesting. The art direction looks strikingly similar to that of Bioshock. You can see for yourself after the jump.
