Dragon Age To Be “Massively Single Player” Game

Go to the website for any video game and along the base of the screen you’ll see logos for anyone and everyone involved from the publisher to the system(s) it’s being released on. Trailers also feature these helpful little reminders at the end and apparently in a trailer for Bioware’s upcoming Dragon Age: Origins two of the logos featured were somewhat unusual for a game: Twitter and Facebook.

It seems that as with Spore the overall aim is to blur the line between single player and multiplayer. With Spore you created creatures who existed in a universe populated by the creations of others. The developers are looking for some method of connecting the community of Dragon Age players through a ‘network of manually and automatically shared content’.

Some of that will be more passive, similar to the stat-tracking features of games like Halo 3 where you can nip over to Bungie’s and check out lifetime game stats for yourself and others. Given that they’ll be including a suite of content creation tools though there could be some other aspects to it. In-game merchants selling weapons and armor others have created is a possibility, as well as other people’s characters being used for NPCs or hirelings.

The Uncharted series is one of those series that makes the PS3 what it is, you know, like Uncharted is to the PS3 as Halo is to the Xbox 360. Okay, not really, but you get the point.

Anyways, Naughty Dog has just released the above video giving us the first look at what the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves singleplayer gameplay will look like. The visuals are absolutely stunning not to mention the ingame physics but take a look at the video and see for yourself.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is currently slated for a Fall 2009 release as a Playstation 3 exclusive.

Trivial Pursuit For All Consoles Released

March 15th, 2009 No Comments   Posted in Analyst, News, Strategy

With the announcement that Trivial Pursuit has been released and catered to all gaming consoles popularly known today, it looks like EA will be making life entirely easier for gamers all over the world. Apparently one thing that gamers hate is specifics on which console would get first crack on certain games and it looks like EA has taken that issue out of the picture.

The EA Play Label of Electronic Arts , Inc. announced the release of a digital version of Trivial Pursuit on multiple digital platforms including the Xbox 360, PlayStation2, Playstation3, and the Nintendo Wii. The Trivial Pursuit video game builds on the original gameplay by adding categories, questions and modes of play.

The Trivial Pursuit video game features three ways to play: Classic, which mimics traditional board game play; Clear the Board, a single-player experience that challenges players to race against the clock to earn multipliers for the highest possible score; and Facts & Friends, a multiplayer mode of play where scoring is based on team responses and guessing the opposing team’s ability to answer their trivia question correctly.

The game’s profile feature allows a player to track and analyze performance statistics, such as the number of games won, a player’s best category, and the percentage of questions answered correctly in each category. This feature also compares a player’s strengths and weaknesses versus those of the opponents.
