The 2-disc Halo 3: ODST sound track will feature sounds from Marty O’Donnel and Michael Salvatori and is said to showcase the series’ new direction with ODST. Marty O’Donnell comments:

“I’m happy to be able to share all new compositions and recordings created for Halo 3: ODST. The music reflects the new mood, new heroes, and new story of the game. I worked with the Northwest Sinfonia for the orchestral recordings and also added some nice alto sax solos and some new guitar solos. The piano sneaks back in again a few times too, but I can’t seem to help that.”

Modern Warfare 2 will be released on November 10th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Capcom plans to release soundtracks of the following games in the near future; Bionic Commando, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Dead Rising, Dark Void, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Spyborgs.

Release dates will be announced in the upcoming weeks, and the soundtracks will be available on iTunes as well.

The soundtrack was composed by Doyle W. Donehoo and audio lead Jason Ross, with contributions by artist Noah Stacey and others.

You can grab the 20 track, 188MB soundtrack from major download sites, including Relic’s community site for the game.

It features 11 tracks from the game, all from the world-renowned Danish game composer Jesper Kyd (known for the Hitman series and many other games), and is now available on Amazon for $7.99 and iTunes for $9.99.

The soundtracks are often equally predictable/interchangeable. An enterprising individual has created his own soundtrack for a JRPG known as Ebben Flow, a fantasy adventure where rising water levels have submerged most of the world. The kicker is that this game doesn’t exist, but Kotaku reader Michael Chadwick created a fifteen-track soundtrack which you can download.

Are you one of those people who needs to have absolutely every peice of Halo merchandise on the market? Well you better add another item to your list as it was recently made known that Sumthing Else’s 5-disc Halo soundtrack will hit store shelves tomorrow.

Included in the bundle are the original soundtracks from Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, both Halo 3 discs, and a DVD containing tracks from Halo Wars and all kinds of behind the scenes goodness.

Kotaku lets us know that Best Buy has the bundle up for pre-order at a none-too-high price of $34.99, a must have for any Halo fanatic.

If you are the kind who loves having a CD of all the songs on your favourite game then you better get out to your favorite music store.

It was recently announced that the official soundtrack for Gears of War 2 has hit store shelves nationwide thanks to Sumthing Else Music Works. The soundtrack will feature all of the songs that will be included in Microsoft’s upcoming smash hit and was composed by Steve Jablonsky, who has also done work on movies like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Transformers.

Gears of War 2 The Soundtrack features a new original music score composed by Hollywood composer Steve Jablonsky (“Transformers”, “The Island”, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”) and recorded with the Skywalker Symphonic Orchestra and Chorus at the world famous Skywalker Sound.

Epic Games wanted every aspect of Gears of War 2 to be “bigger, darker, and crunchier” than the original game, including the bombastic orchestral soundtrack. Drawing on his extensive experience scoring big budget action films as well as a unique musical repertoire and Hollywood production values, Jablonsky was the perfect match for creating the adrenaline-pumping, emotionally charged Gears of War 2 score.

Much of the released music was previously only available through the games’ collector’s editions, or at special events such as the BlizzCon gaming convention. The soundtracks released today are: StarCraft, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft, The Burning Crusade and Taverns of Azeroth.

The albums are available through a new Blizzard Entertainment hub page within the iTunes store. It also hosts BlizzCast podcast and various media from the studio’s upcoming games.

Additionally, the “Diablo 3 Overture” track has been released as a single and has been highlighted as a “Discovery Download”, making it free to download till this Tuesday.
