Batman: Arkham Asylum pre-order bonuses detailed
North American game retailer GameStop has released information regarding the pre-order bonuses for Warner Bros.’s upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum. Players who reserve the game through GameStop will receive an exclusive “in-game Villain Challenge Map”. No other details were mentioned about the map.
Arkham Asylum will be out in stores August 25th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

The Joker behind a boost in PS3 Arkham Asylum pre-orders?
As our friends over at ThatVideoGameBlog have noticed, the Playstation 3 version of Batman: Arkham Asylum has left the Xbox 360 version in its dust in terms of pre-order numbers. Currently, the PS3 version claims an Amazon ranking of #176 while the Xbox 360 version sits at #478. But, why? Do PS3 owners really like Batman that much more than Xbox 360?
Probably not, it’s more likely that the boost in pre-orders has to do with the recent findings of The Joker being exclusive to the PS3 version of Batman: Arkham Asylum. I don’t know about you guys, but if I had to choose I’d take the version with The Joker over the version without.
Playstation Home advert reveals The Joker in Arkham Asylum
Dreams of Joker fans everywhere have come true, you will in fact be able to play as The Joker in Batman: Arkham Asylum if you’re a PS3 owner, that is.
News comes to us from a seemingly released-ahead-of-time advertisement in Sony’s Playstation Home service, featured above. As you can see, you’ll be able to run through challenge maps as The Joker which are exclusive to the Playstation 3. If you don’t know, challenge maps are basically side maps which you can run through over and over in an attempt to get the fastest time.
This is all we have to go by at the moment, no release dates or pricing but, as always, we’ll keep you posted.
