NPD Sales Results for June 2009, Prototype tops charts
The NPD Group have released the sales figures for the month of June today.
The DS is currently holding the top spot in hardware sales, with its home console counterpart trailing behind. Amazingly, the PlayStation 2 is still almost selling as much as the PlayStation Portable. The price is obviously a big factor in consumer decisions, with the failing economy and other circumstances.
As for software, Prototype debuted and sold over 400,000 copies, topping the charts. Many sports titles follow the sandbox action game, including Tiger Woods PGA Tour and Fight Night Round 4.

UFC 2009 Undisputed will be patched, glitches will be fixed

It was recently announced that there is a patch incoming for UFC 2009 Undisputed that will apparantly fix most of the glitches gamers frequently exploit online to curb matches in their favor.
The most prominent bug fix is the one that involves gamers who quit early to save their record. Once the patch goes into effect, gamers who disconnect early will be given a loss. Furthermore, THQ and the developers hope to fix lag issues associated with online play along with various other glitches.

THQ’s UFC 2009 ships 2 million copies
THQ has revealed that UFC 2009, the fighting game based on the UFC license, has shipped (not necessarily sold) 2 million retail copies on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 since its launch on May 19. THQ, which is in the midst of financial restructuring, reported that expected revenues because of the success of UFC 2009 were increased to “$180 million range”. THQ also recently released Red Faction: Guerilla, although it’s far too early to announce
UFC 2009 Undisputed demo hits Xbox Live, PSN

Mixed Martial Arts fans will be happy to hear that a playable demo for UFC 2009 Undisputed has been released on both Xbox Live and the Playstation Network.
According to the press release, the demo will allow players to face off with either Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell or Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. It also includes a tutorial mode so everyone will be able to get a feel for the game before jumping into battle.
THQ’s UFC 2009 Undisputed is set to hit store shelves on May 19th for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
